Methadone(SP?)

Ok, I know there is an injectable form of this stuff, obviously.
But does it come in a pill form for oral dosage? I'd recently heard that it's an option as a pain killer? Not sure, as I'd never heard that before.
Whats the recreational value of it if it's the real thing? Dosage per tab? Etc.
 
Yeah, it comes in a pill form, injectable form, and a oral liquid (syrup) ... search for info on dose ... personally I don't think it gives a very good buzz, but it can definitly help with withdrawal!

I am personally not a huge fan of methadone, but do take it occasionally. The ones I get are 40mg pills, that can be broken into 4 10mg pieces. I think that they are given as painkillers because they are not so hard on the liver as some other drugs are. These pills I've been getting are actually citris flavored, although I think they still taste quite bitter.

I guess it's an effective pain-killer, and "favored" because of it's lower rate of "side effects" (read: euphoria).. but it does have it's place - when you're in great pain because you ran out of OxyContin, or when Miguel is in Miami and you can't cop a packet - those methadone canreally come in handy ...
A point that should be made - use these things for as short of a while as possible... I don't really favor methadone programs for heroin addicts as I personally feel methadone withdrawal is FAR, FAR, FAR worse then the withdrawal of most any other narcotic... yer just kinda trading your illegal addiction for one thats state sponsored ($$) ..
And I will say it again - if you're looking for a *high*, you're looking in the wrong place!

most will agree that they would rather do 5 heroin withdrawals than 1 methadone withdrawal.not only is it more painful it can also last up to a month,instead of 4 or 5 days.
 
I have several people I know that are on methadone..however, I was always under the impression that if taking methadone it did something to you that prevented you to be able to get high off the drugs. I guess that's not true. no wonder their still banging away..
 
I've avoided opiate use enough to not have to go through any form of withdraw symptoms. Some stomach problems after two weeks of daily opium use.
Thanks though. I didn't really think the guy who was selling them knew wtf he was talking about. They're cheap, but no one I know (except my roomate but she'll do anything for shits n' giggles) has ever said "Yeah, great time on methadone last night. Can't wait to do it again."
 
I've had quite a bit of liquid methadone(IV) but I dont get much off it, I do know people that get really high & hyper off it.as far as dosage goes, Different clinics do it up differently so it's hard to say.
I wouldn't bother with it for recreational purposes.
 
if you don't have a tolerance to opiates an adequate amount of methadone will make you nod but it doesn't give the euphoria of heroin. The withdrawal sucks.... It takes about 36/48 hours from your last dose to start and it last forever it could be a couple of months before you can sleep without benzos, you can count on cold sweats,low energy,joint pain for weeks. The worst part is that it never seems to get better, that really fucks with your head.

infinity,technically methadone does provide an opiate blockade,however its only effective past a certain amount.Its generally thought (in the medical field) that doses above 75ml/mg will provide this barrier,even though smaller doses do have somewhat of a similar,but less of,a side effect in this respect.this usually means addicts use more heroin,sometimes extremely high doses to get an effect while confronted with this.

I have a question...if the withdrawal of methodone is that long and bad, would a first time user experience this also, or does it only apply to those on methodone for long periods of time??
 
Now this makes total sense. The person in question offering me this is, shall we say, rather enthralled with heroin (or straight opium and thats all he ever calls me for, I feel so unloved!!!). They mentioend something about being high for 36 hours, I didn't believe him in the least. My roomate complained about it for days afterwards.
So, save withdraw, I have no use for it. Damn. Guess I'll just go buy more OC's.

Speaking of my experience and knowledge of Methadone (admittedly VERY little), which means experience with a purple syrup form of it, the majority of clincs give out here in Dallas that my junkie friends sold to me to get real drugs....
The high is "neato" at best, that was on if I am remebering correctly 40ml taken over the span of an hour or so, IF I am remebering correctly, so don't use that as any sort of accurate judgement of your personal doseage....
Anyways, nice to try a few times, nothing to pursue, nothing special at all....
Oh, but the reason I posted on this thread:
The purple liquid version of methadone the clincs out here give, while theoretically can be shot up, CANNOT be injected without something bad and painful happening to you. This has been told to me buy several of my junkie friends, an additive is mixed with the methadone to make IV injection of said methadone highly un-desirable.
So as far as that purple syrup form goes, for the stuff adminsitered at the majority of Dallas clinics, I would highly advise NOT banging it...

Good point about banging the liquid... awhile ago (years) in a.d.h. someone had ganked a bottle from a clinic and had tried to bang it.. lets just say he had a less then euphoric experience and wanted to make sure others avoided it... if Google wasn't such a bastard factory I would post it.. never had these problems with Deja.. fucking [EDIT - rascist slur] at Google had to fuck up an awesome resource!
