Opioids methadone regulations in other countries?

I live in Phoenix, AZ, where MMT regulations are fairly loose, in comparison to most other countries. I was wondering if anyone knew of specific regulations in countries like Italy, Greece, the Middle East, Africa...I was stationed in Italy during my time in the Air Force a few years back, so obviously I wasn't using methadone then ( I was buying poppy pods at flower shops, aka fioristas..lol addicts will always find a way) but I am considering moving back to Europe...so, naturally, I would like to know what the rules are like.

In Germany it depends from what doctors you get your methadone. With doctors who are specialized in MMT the rules are more stringent regarding screenings, pick up times for methadone and take home rules. This varies from urine screenings under camera and mirrors to UT without inspection. If you fail screenings several times in a row, you will usually be send to a detox clinic (where you still get methadone) to get "clean" from crack,benzos or whatever. I never had a doctor who had problems with THC, but i heard there are some who test for that too (probably in Bavaria ;-). If you get your methadone from doctors who have only a handful of patients in a small villages it can be more lax. UT usually without inspection, you can get your M all day, when the office is open. Take home for the weekend. Weekly take home is permitted by law only when you pass UT for 6 month. But if you work and your working times don't match with the open times of the smaller doctors you can get it earlier, too.
