methadone question

I dunno.
For a non-tolerent person I would take between 15-20mg of Methadone and take it from there.
Methadone isn't as euphoric or as fun as opiods like Oxycodone and Hydrocodone.

From what I've heard it's very euphoric and long lasting - just not as intense as some shorter acting opiates/opioids.

i hope you read this before you do it. be fuckin careful dude. methadone is a serious drug and if you don't know what you're doing, you can overdose easily. i've seen it happen. a friend of mine was given a couple methadone pills (i think they were a peach color) and his usual tolerance for hydrocodone was fairly high.....so, thinking that methadone must be fairly similar....he ate both pills and almost died. i called 911 and it took the paramedics almost a half an hour to even wake him and he did stop breathing twice. i thank God everyday for giving me the sense to just know something was not right. be so careful with drugs you aren't familiar with. peace.

also, from your wording, you seem to expect quite a high... well dont.

i was on methadone maintenance for close to 9months, but occasionaly would get some extra just to get a bit high, but the buzz is suttle... it also takes quite a while to set in... both of these are ingredients for disaster, as you may think you should take some more... definetely dont go over 20mg your first time..
 
Methadone can be very euphoric at the right dose, and provides a nice long nod. Everyday dosing eliminates this, but occasional use at the right dose can get you sky high, for many hours. The myth of it being non-euphoric is propogated by the producers and distributers of methadone, and is only true when the user has taken the drug for a long period of time and has been accustomed to it, or the dose is insufficient. I take 180mg orally every day, and it no longer gets me high, but it does make me feel sedated when it peaks then levels off after about 4 hours. If i inject it, i do get high, and nod off for quite a while. It is a potent mu-agonist, and should be treated like one, the exception being that it lasts unusually long. Starting dose should be 20mg to get some degree of a high.

i thought methadone was used at clinics and for programs and such because its not supposed to be euphoric
 
when i first started one dolphine (10mg) was enough to keep me feeling good for a long time now i dig about 15 to 20mg for a nice very euphoric high as does my roomate and my g/f who along iwht me are very exp. with almost all opiates.
 
I like methadone myself.
I perfer it over hydro or oxy.
It's potent, long lasting, good analgesic, but not quite as euphoric as other strong opiates.
 
If you've never tried methadone in sufficient doses, you cant pass judgement on whether or not it is euphoric. Like i said, the zero euphoria is a complete myth, to legitamize methadone use and widespread dispensing. It is a strong mu- agonist, and provides a euphoria that one would expect from such a compound. The drug dipipanone, found in the infamously euphoric diconal tablets, is very closely related to methadone, and is regarded as one of the most euphoric/sought after opiods. For this reason diconal was banned in england due to epidemic misuse and extreme addiction potential. A good number of people became soley diconal junkies, and like methadone, they experienced amoung the most severe withdrawal. Some people tried to recreate the high and distinct rush of IV diconal by mixing dramamine and methadone, and injecting, which of course is enormously dangerous. Point is, dont go by what is force fed by less than well meaning pharmaceutical companies and misled doctors. People who have taken sufficient doses of methadone know its power, and its unmistakable opiod euphoria. Methadone does lose its euphoric value when taken in insufficient doses, or with regular use (as in my case), but this is very true of opiates in general. Becarefull though, methadone is especially dangerous in terms of OD potential, especially with those without a tolerance. 40-60mg could kill someone without a tolerance, although some people without a tolerance could handle these doses. 20mg is enough to get someone without a tolerance plenty high.
 
taking a 10mg pill would rock my world for a day ... far more effects than I ever got off a few hydros.
Was nodding, very euphoric, awesome high. Definately don't take more than 20mg your first time or you may get more than you bargained for.
 
Sustained methadone use causes dental problems as well, does it not? Between that and the difficulty in kicking it, I think I'd steer clear.

By the way, does anybody know how it compares to morphine? Most of the characteristics (except dental problems) sound quite similar. I've always been curious.
 
I was on meth for over 2 years and I did notice a dull aching pain stemming from inside my teeth and right under my teeth in the gum line. My teeth are fine now though =D

There is a reason the state (at least my state) sets a maximum dosage to start off treatment. The first day or 2 the dose can not exceed 20mgs. I dont know the 'true' meaning behind this claus but I have always figured its set in place to prevent accidental OD's for shady patients.

By shady patients I am speaking of scammers, methadone seems to be one of the easiest strong opiates to get scripted. Actually its a joke, all that is needed is a dirty drop for opiates and money. Most clinics you can start medication with-in a day or two. They draw blood and a doctor (who usually gives a shit less) gives you a quick exam and thats it.

Although most clinics watch you take your dose before you are allowed to leave, many big city clinics are pretty lax on that as the volume of patients that stop there in a short time frame (before work) is large. Smaller clinics tend to keep an eye out for that type of behavior a bit more.

Anyways, all that really is pointless and I was just curious as to if other states/countries have a 'set' dosage the first day or so...?
 
Ive know people to eat 2 1/2 of the Methadon Waffles(40 mg), thes motherfucker were screwed for 2 days strait, with sleep, food, and showers. THey were burning wholes in their clothes, drooling and shit. WHat ever you do, dont eat a 100 mgs. Unless you want to sit wherever you are with your eyes closed.

I had a close friend pass when he consumed 70mgs of methadone and an unknown amount of Xanax. Low tolerence, weekend visit back from rehab. Boom gone...

The shit is nothing to mess with...
