Okay so I have some experience with opiods (heroin) and have a general knowledge of opioid effects and such.
I want to know how a 10mg tablet of methadone (don't know if its time-released or anything like that) is comparable to heroin.
I know it is not possible to judge a drug on a rating scale because every person is different but I just wanted to get a "ballpark" figure to determine a "safer" dosage.
Does anyone know the mg/kg ration thing? :D
any feedback is appreciated
 
Methadone is not one of the better opioids -- this is why it is used for addict maintenance programs.
However, if your standards aren't too high, it should be a nice buzz. 10mg, if memory serves, is a fairly normal dose -- comparing it to heroin, however, is a highly flawed concept. Don't even try.

yes I have more questions:
1)what is a "safe" dosage for a person weighing 140lbs - by that I mean what risks are involved if someone ate 15mg versus 10mg?
2)what is the smallest amount needed for a person to feel *something* versus "trying to get f*cked up"?

well, methadone is one of the safer opioids as i understand it....i think the LD50 is something over 50mg for those with no tolerance, so 15mg should be perfectly safe if not combined with any other sedatives/narcotics/alcohol.
to feel any effects at all, 3-5mg would probably be noticeable but you wouldn't get any real buzz. 8-10mg is the dose where you should be buzzed, and 15mg should rock you....any more than say 20mg would worry me personally, but probably won't do more than nod you out.
don't combine this with other substances until you are highly experienced with it....i've seen several deaths in my area recently where people were sitting around smoking reefer, drinking booze....and somebody offered them a sip of methadone syrup, they wound up dead the next morning. uncool stuff.
 
i got my hands on some methadone a month or so ago, and all i did was crunch it up and snort it. I weight like 135lbs and i snorted 3/4 of a pill the first time, and got a nice buzz... but then you keep doing more through the night. I don't know about oraly.
