Opioids Methadone Onset Question

is it true that methadone can take like 4 or 5 hours before you feel the high from it. I've gotten high from it before and dont remember it taken that long, but i took 2x10mg, crushed em up and parachuted em, and that was like 4hours ago, it made my withdrawals go away within 30min, but ive yet to feel the high from it. I am using to taken one or two 60mg Morphines a day. but at the time i took the 2x10mg methadones it had been over 24hours since the last time i took any morphine so i dont think my tolerance would be too high to feel the effects of the dose i took, but i could be wrong. i guess i am just still hoping that at some point i will feel high from it, cause its all i got for the night.

It takes at least 3 hours to reach peak concentration of methadone for those who are not used to it.

Yea, there is a difference between how long it takes for you to feel it, and how long it takes to peak. You will feel it within the first hour of taking it, but it doesn't peak for another couple of hours. That's why you need to wait a while before redosing.

Yeah, even in chronic methadone users, I'd say it doesn't reach it's peak effect for about 2-3 hours, but I usually start to feel my dose within 15 minutes.
