Ok After years of opiate addiction and a topsy tervvy life i have started MMT about a month ago and im doing a hell of allot better.

The thing is i go to a paid for, private clinic and i don't want any friends, acquaintances or family to find out, including my GP.

Now my GP has been prescribing me benzo's for GAD for years now and writes me monthly scripts. The MMT clinic is fully aware of my benzo use and has been adjusting my dose accordingly.

The thing is when my GP writes me up for my benzo's its an authority script which he calls into Medicare or something to get permission to write it, so im wondering will the next time he writes it will Medicare or whomever he calls to get an authority script inform him of my MMT or will some kind of red flag go up and he will find out? Basically will my confidentiality be compromised?

Much appreciated if anyone has any info on this.

Thanks.

Depending on what state you're in, usually the only time a GP will be informed that you're on MMT / BMT is if they prescribe you another S8 opiate like morphine or oxycodone and your state's health department monitors the prescriptions.
