Just a simple question.
I've been going to a clinic now for about 8 months..
I'm at 135mg daily. Everyone there always tells me to add water to the dose.
Is this because it metabolizes differently in a way that will help you?
or is it just because is taste bad?
Does it make any difference at all?
On the "take home" doses it reads " Add 1 liquid Oz of water before dosing."
Will it work better if I just take it as it is or does it matter at all?
I personally can't tell any difference when not adding water..
So what's the deal?

I sure as hell wouldnt ever add water which people usually use to weaken down other things like alcohol to my methadone

i could be wrong but it sounds like a stupid idea to me !!

It makes almost no difference. Just easier to swallow pretty much and maybe help slightly with dissolution and onset. The primary reason clinics will deliver the dose in liquid form is to prevent people from stocking up on it.

When I was on methadone, we got the cherry red liquid, but they did not add any water to our take homes. I cannot see what difference it would make adding water to it before drinking, other than possibly minimizing the shitty taste methadone can have.

In regards to metabolization, water should not make any difference..

yea they dont add water to the take homes.. I was just wondering why they told me too and why it said to on the bottle I take home.. thanks guys
