Methadone intake and effects appearing

Hello all,

those who are in MMT and other who have used methadone for some other reason, knows how long it takes for methadone to peak or how long it is between the taking that drug and the effects of methadone appearing... What it is all about?

I know that methadone has incredibly hight bioavailability via oral admistration, compared to, for example, to morphine, while the effects of morphine could appear in very short interval from oral admistration.

Why or to what mechanism it is based that methadone "kicks in" so slowly???

I remember reading from one of the 2 brains Bilz0r or Fast&Bulbous that it was because of the high protein binding that Methadone took so long to kick...

that's interesting article. I have never seen it before... Indeed nice bundle of facts, collection of those which often appear somewhere in somewhat divergent manner.

Methadone has worked indeed amazingly regarding my concerns, and seems not to have built significant tolerance (being that the cause of it's N-methyl-D-aspartate antagonism or what). Rather conversely, because of its cumulative nature. The rise of dose seems to have full effects only after four to five days (maybe even a week). I'm in maintenance, but have a tendency to have pain; the pressure like leg pain is still present every morning before dosing; that being chicken egg style of problem: was it the partial reason for my addiction or the result, I'm not sure. The main thing is that methadone works wonderfully for me... kills completely cravings as far as it works, and I'm able to work, study or do what ever as compared to scoring illicit dope and trying to get prescriptions fulfilled.
