Opioids Methadone insufflation

I've got some 40mg methadone pills, and I was wondering if they'd be able to be insufflated? They're apparently french made pills. Red and white capsules.

it's been a good while since I've taken any opiates, and I was hoping to be able to sniff these. I understand its not a very good idea to do anything if I've been off them for so long, but dont worry. My well being is not your responsibility. I don't mean to be presumptuous, its just I see a lot of that on here. I decided I'd stop lurking and make an account, but it turned out I already had one, and with an amusing name too. Not sure why i'm typing so much. Oh well.
 
As long as they don't gel when in contact with water, you should be able to.
However, methadone has an extremely high bio-availability, you would probably end up with a better dose just eating it.
 
Don't, just eat them. I snorted the American Wafers they use to give to pain patients and Methadone clinics(half of one so 20mg) and it BURNS doesn't really kick in that much faster, and doesn't last as long, best just to eat it. I have heard good things about plugging them, but just look up what the bioavailbilty would be if you did it that way so you don't off yourself. From what I've heard doing it that way kicks in faster and also last longer. Just make sure your butt is clear so it works.
 
Don't snort them. Like Screaming said, methadone burns like shit and you'll have all that gunk in your nose.
 
as LazyLazyJoe said methadone has a very high bioavailabilty rate orally, 91% if i remember correctly. I'm not sure when the nasal is but i believe when i looked up last it doesn't compare and there's not much of a quicker onset. I've never shot em but i've had friends do this and tell me there is no rush; took a long time to really kick in and probably lost a lot of the product in the process. (only reason i mention the IV is to explain there is not rush or quicker onset)
 
I didnt realize they burned that bad. Truthfully I just wanted to sniff something. Not very smart I know, but I sure am glad I asked beforehand. I used to go to the clinic as well, but around here all we got were liquid doses. I never saw methadone around often, but when I did it was always the 10mg tab. Tombstones we used to call them. It always used to confuse me because as far as I know, the clinic I went to was the only one around, and I never heard of anyone getting pills for take homes. Just the off white yellowish liquid theyd give us there, except it was diluted with water instead of orange drink which was really good. The nurses there were middle aged and for the most part extremely kind, but they wouldnt tell me what kind of drink mix they used.

There isn't anyone who knows what I'm talking about is there? I still wanna know what drink mix they used.. I can actually still taste it lol

Speaking of take homes, those things came about as often as winning the lottery. After a year of clean tests, which I had to take twice a month if I remember right, they finally gave me one dose. Is it that hard to get take homes where you guys live? Assuming you go/have gone to the clinic.
 
The white pills (5mg & 10mg) are only for pain management. The wafers & liquid or (anything > 10mg) are only for maintenance.
Dont know about other countries, but In the US, docs can get in lots of trouble for prescribing one for the other.

Seriously though, the best ROA for administration of methadone is oral. And this is coming from someone who has a needle fixation.
 
Every clinic is different with take homes, but that sounds like an ABSURD amount of time to get take-homes! Especially since you were passing your drug test. Most of them go by phases, like the one close to me you go for a month and if you were fine on drug test you get two take homes after a month, then every few months you get anohter take home or two added, and after a year you are suppose to have a weeks worth of take homes as long as you did everything right...after the first year you repeat the process and can get up to two weeks worth of take homes, some clinics allow up to a month's worth of take homes, but you have to go a while for that, it just depends on the clinic, and sounds like you were going to a rather strict one if that was in the US. I've never been to the clinic, thought about it but it was just too much driving and having to explain it to work, so I went with Suboxone, even though I feel I would be doing better on Methadone...
 
Methadone has a really high oral bioavailibility, just eat the stuff.

Because it's so incredibly lipophilic you won't get a rush out of it even if you IV it. So no point snorting it or even plugging it.
