I am on a high dose of methadone and I know that mixing my prescription ativan with it is dangerous so I don't take them together at the same time but I was wondering if I take my ativan at night will it effect my dose of methadone in the morning in a negative way. In other words will it take away from the effects of my morning dose of methadone

I know I'll probably hear some shit for this but it's a true story. When I was on the methadone clinic(dosage=100mg/day)I took my prescription Xanax(1mg3x/day)as directed and had no problems with over sedation, respiratory depression etc...But that's me.I don't know what your dosage of either drug is or how sensitive you may be to either one.Use caution obviously. How much meth do you take and what's your Ativan dose like?Your Ativan will certainly not lessen the effects of methadone. If anything it will increase them so yeah,be careful. You may find you need less Ativan.

Mmonster, do you get dosed at the clinic and are they aware of the Ativan usage? The reason I ask is some clinics have a "no benzo" stance. When I was in pain management, my doctor used to prescribe low doses of oxycodone for daytime plus 10mg methadone at night with valium 10 mg. So for me, the low doses were not an issue. It's always a good idea, if in doubt talk with your physician. Welcome to Bluelight!
