I hope this is not a dumb question but I have had a search -
people talk about pills being smacky... but... so many people say smack is not put in pills as it is not viable due to cost and not effective being swallowed.... but.... has anybody tested for methadone in pills????, as it is taken orally!!! and is it common? - we all know any drug is attainable but would this be worth their while?

I'm involved in testing but I don't think I can answer the question. Although a number of testers can detect Herion I'm not entirely sure that Methadone would test the same way. I'm going to transfer this over to the pill testing forum and we'll see if we can get an answer.
Oh and yeah good blood question.

A current pill on Dancesafe and ecstasydata shows as being methadone, the first i've ever heard of such a thing happening. As for reagent reactions to opiates i believe it does precipitate a color change on one of the reagents, but i can't recall for sure. I'll ceheck into our stuff for it b/c i thought i had something on it before...

Marquis will turn a red colour in the presense of opiates. We've had a whole ONE pill ever (to my knowledge) test red in Australia, and people were hospitalised with some classic opiate symptoms (ichyness, nausea etc) after consuming them.

Until now, Methadone was never found by DIMS. Meaning; They did not find Methadone in pills sold as Ecstasy (in The Netherlands).

heroin and other opiates are orally active to a degree, but not significantly so in the amounts you would typically find in a pill (ie less than 200mg).

well seems like the question has been answered it is an opiate and would show up as such, as for getting hold of it well thats too fucking easy, just ask your local smackhead if you can buy some of there prescription (most will have a prescription) it costs about £1 for 10ml last time i checked.

^^^ yes but could you, have you, do you know anyone who's has, put it in a pill?
i could get dog poo and put it in a pill but i'm not going to.
if you really want me to go to the trouble of finding out the dosages of methadone and possible wayes of forming it into a pill with a mitzi stamp on it i will, but it seems incredibly unlikley, has never been found and would test positive for opiates so you would be unlikely to take it.
i hope the person who originally posted this questions realises that the term "smacky" is a complete misnomer and that the sensation is nothing like the feeling of having taken opiates.

Thank you all for your responses - I know it would test as an opiate and then as an opiate you would then have to do further testing to identify what derivative it would be - thanks again I was just curious - as for knowing it was a misnoma - yes I knew and have used the term smacky myself for describing pills but little would i know about the real effects of smack
Thanks again for your help

^^^ yup it could be. i'm not sure if it's that cheap tho. it definitly is readly accesible. codeine is "active" at a lot less than 200mg, panedeine forte have 30mg and you can definitly feel it.
oh one thing codeine would do would be give a false positive for MDMA to a Dancesafe Mecke kit. this is why we keep insisting that yuo use marquis as a primary test, and if you are worried about DXM use Mecke as a follow up test.

methadone can be dangerous, very dangerous,, if taken in a liquid form it has been known to kill people. Methadone is most often used for heroine abusers to help keep them off heroine, but if some average Joe is using caution is advised....

*I doubt methdaone would show up as an opiate with marquis.
Whilst methadone does bind to the same opiate receptors as heroin/morphine/codeine, it has a distinctly different synthetic chemical structure - meaning it would be unlikely for it to react the same way as heroin/morphine/codeine with marquis.
*Test a panadeine (there's 10mg codeine in one pill) pill to see what an opiate test looks like.

I have made a serious effort to abuse methadone, and have not been successfull. I have taken as much as 100mg, and got nothing more then a stomach ache. Methadone does not cross the blood/brain barrier very well, and very few people find it recreationally usefull. I doubt it would be put in any pills sold as E.

then how does it truly benefit those weaning off heroin? methadone btw is used to wean those off heroin AND other opiates too, right?
