i acquired 'methadose' after falling down a flight of metal steps and and and some ativan- i felt no pain.
Also if you have ANY experience with pain in particular, how effective do you think methadone is compared to other opiates. EG noted that he didn't find it all that great a painkiller. Do others agree/disagree?
For chronic pain, methadone was by far the most effective drug I've found.
Oh, and what does it feel like? Of the opiates I've tried, which does it most resemble?
It's hard to explain because it's unique from any other opiates. It really lacks any euphoria, it's not something you'd really want to take for recreation. It's simply something that has a long duration while leaving you mentally intact (at low/reasonable doses).
Methadone is an extremely good pain killer. Side effects might be nausea and upset stomach.
And itching. Severe itching if you take too much.
Using methadone once or twice a week at a 20mg dosage wouldn't cause any significant tolerance, or withdrawal syptoms.
Using a relatively low dose of methadone daily, 20mgs, is not going to cause a significant tolerance or withdrawal symptoms either.
If you are trying to get high, sure, you're going to experience a tolerance fairly quickly using more than 3-4 times a week. But if this is solely about pain relief, you're not going to have that problem.
And as for using 2-3 times a week for pain at a dose like 20mgs... what the hell are you talking about?
Just because it builds up in your system does not mean it's having a pain relieving effect.
I've taken it for fibromyalgia. It had to be taken daily. I know others that have taken it for chronic pain and again, it had to be taken daily.
And as for withdrawal, I got up to 40mgs and the withdrawal was entirely insignificant compared to a 150-200mg a day heroin. I would have rather gone through the methadone withdrawal any day.
Based on my experience and the experience of people I know personally, I believe much of the information that goes around about methadone being so bad is largely bullshit.
It must have all been in my head the severe withdrawal i went through for 2 months.
Yeah, it must have been. 2 month withdrawals don't exist.
As for the amount you get addicted to you can be addicted to 5mg and still get w/d
Ummmm, no you can't.
Absolute BULLSHIT. Have you tried this yourself for a significant lenght of time? Give it a go for 6 months then tell me how you feel.
I was on methadone maintenence for a period of almost 9 months, at a starting dosage of 60mg per day, weened down to 20mg per day at the end when I quit going. The withdrawal was there, but not anything I couldn't handle. The oxycodone addiction/withdrawal which made me go to the program were at least 5x as bad as the methadone withdrawal, and I was on methadone EVERY DAY for nearly 9 months, and quit cold-turkey when I was using 20mg per day at the end.
