Methadone Dosing. Help!

First time trying methadone So last night was my first time trying methadone, I have to say as far as a buzz goes it didnt live up to expectations. I started with a dose of 7.5mg, now I do have an opiate tolerance, I am 6ft 150lbs approx. And am currently down to 90mg a day of oxy, couple weeks ago was about 150-180 mg/day with some days going into the 250 range. So i started with 7.5, three hours later went up to 12.5, finally 2 hours later at about 11:30 last night went up to 17.5 total approx. The high I didn't really feel, I slept like a baby and had no pain what so ever, which was nice to have for once.

Today I have 20mg left, after taking 17.5mg last night over 5-6 hours and not feeling much..

what would be an ok dose for today??

I dont know a ton about the stuff.. its an effective pain reliever even at low mg for me. Just wondering because I know it has a long half life what's an ok dose for day 2? A ceiling anybody?
 
I take methadone for chronic pain as well, and with an opiate tolerance (I take Oxy IR for breakthrough pain, 180mg/day) you are unlikely to get high from 20mg of methadone. You can try taking it all at once, but be warned that it takes quite a while for its effects to set in so you wont want to rush into taking a bunch of other opiates after an hour because "I don't feel anything"
