I have decided that I get way to belligerent when I am on methadone towards the end of the night. I cannot take it anymore so I told my parents I want to go to a hospital for hopefully only a week maybe two, and get on Bupe. If anyone has any comments please respond input is needed. I want this to be as painless as possible and I know its going to be a bitch. I am not wanting to get high anymore. I hated and am over opiate high/buzz/warmths and just want to kill the w/d part. I don't care about having cravings because I wont. I don't have them now and haven't for awhile. I will say thinking about it makes memories come back but theres no point for me to stay on methadone if its ruining my life.

How much methadone are you on? You can switch to sub from methadone at 40mg but I personally recommend getting down to 20mg first if you can..

How long have you been on it? Methadone withdrawal is far from pleasant but it is really only terrible if you have been on it for a long time..

I think you will be able to switch to bupe fairly painlessly..

almost a year and I've been on 102mg's for the past 5 months

I'm sick of the sedation and the bullshit it does I want to be able to switch and not throw up and if I do throw up I only want to have to do it once twice at max.

When I off methadone at a similar dose but a shorter period of time I tapered down at 1mg a day and it wasn't that bad until I got real low. That is probably a good place to start and then you can speed it up or slow it down to suit yourself.

I cannot get uncomfortable until schools out then I can do an Inpatient detox at a hospital how long will it take a week or 2 weeks?

You will be much better off dealing with a slight amount of discomfort dropping 1mg a day then trying to come off all 100mg at once.. in the interests of harm reduction I can't even recommend detoxing methadone all at once..

Getting better in a week or two is not realistic.
