Opioids methadone death risks?

I just bought 5 mehodones 10 mg for my nerve pain, i also take gabentin, already took my dose 2,500 at about 2 o clock. yeah high dose i know but thats what does it. im researching and i am reading about methone death. its scary now im scared to dose 10 mg. thats what im planning on dosing. just 10 later on. im hoping its good for pain. i will not mix it with any of my benzos. i took viks and perks a couple of times but im not an oipiate addict. im a benzo addict. well ill say more a dependant addict. my last dose of klonopin was yesterday and valium 3 days ago. i wanna take 10 mg of methadone at about 10. should i be good? thanks.
 
If you haven't taken a benzo today, and if you don't have any other opioids in your system, 10mg will not kill you. If you have no tolerance to opioids I'd suggest taking 5mg instead, and also taking some Benadryl (which will stop you from itching and potentiate the opioid high). Enjoy!
 
Just make sure that you give methadone a good ammount of time if you start feeling like you're not getting what you want out of it. The first time I took methadone, I didn't feel it for two hours, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
 
Methadone takes a while to start working, don't redose until you've let it kick in all the way.

Don't mix benzos with it, and try to avoid any other CNS depressants, I don't know about the gabapentin, but you should start with 5mg, then maybe add another 2.5mg (1/4 of the 10mg pill) an hour and a half later if you need to. Slowly work your way up.

Methadone takes about 1.5-2.5 hours in my body to take effect, keep in mind everyones different. First time I did methadone I wasn't tolerant and 5mg was more than enough.

Yeah, don't start with 10 mg. I would start with 5 mg, hell even 2.5 mg would probably offer some good pain relief. Methadone is quite potent, and is quite sedating. I would wait to take it if your doses of clonazepam and diazepam that you took yesterday and the day before are high (for you), or if you still can "feel" them. Mixing methadone with other types of CNS depressants is risky, yes, especially when you don't have a tolerance to one of the CNS depressants, the methadone in your case. Thinking about it, yeah, I would start with just 2.5 mg. It will take a while for it to kick in nice and good (sometimes up to several hours), so don't re-dose hastily. Start low, and go slow.

I thought 5mg would be okay because I have a naturally very insanely high tolerance to opiates (i think its partly genetic, prescribed opiates go back generations in my family) but maybe I was affected so much because it's it's a special opioid, NMDA antagonist.

^+1. If you heed this advice the life you save might be your own. Peak plasma levels occur about three to five hours after dose. So if you take a piece, wait 15 minutes then take another, then another, this is how people fall out on 'done. That, and taking benzos with it. Methadone is an EXTREMELY dangerous drug for those that are not tolerant to it. 'Done has qualities that no other opioids have, which makes it VERY unpredictable. You get the point.

Having a family history of opiate use would not effect your tolerance.
