Well, i have been on methadone for prolly 2 and a half years, and in the last 6 years i have prolly not have missed a day of taking some kind of opiate. back in my hydro and oxycodonedays i would mix them with lorazepam, xanax, klonopin, valium, temazepam......but havent taken benzos since i have been on methadone...well i just got prescribed klonopin 0.5 milligram once a day....i am at 48 mg of methadone a day...sometimes i will double my dose...but yeah, with taking my daily dose, and then sticking to just 1 0.5 klonopin a day ( the klonopin will be took hours before my methadone dose like 8 hours) not much danger right?

Shouldn't you have brought this up with your doctor before he prescribed you it?

i think you should be fine thats not a big dose of benzos or a big dose of methadone so it should be ok

0.5mg Klonopin is a safe dose to take once daily (anything <2mg is considered a mild/moderate dose). As long as you have an opiate tolerance you should be fine mixing 0.5mg Klonopin as prescribed with your normal (and doubled) Methadone dosage.
Be careful with Klonopin though. Dependence can form rapidly if you start increasing your dosage way too often. I'd also recommend trying not to take the Klonopin every day unless your doctor highly recommends it (if you're unable to function, hold down a job, etc. due to panic/anxiety/stress). Taking Klonopin only 5x per week will significantly reduce your chances of forming dependence or tolerance to the medication.
But if you're taking it for severe crippling anxiety and/or panic attacks, then definitely I'd go with a small daily dosage (0.5mg seeks perfect for this kind of thing). Hopefully you can get to the point where you only need a benzo PRN, but some people just need a long-term benzo due to genuine, severe, crippling anxiety and/or panic attacks.

Just don't take the k-pins after or before a day you want to double your dose. I'd use them as needed, not daily, for stress or insomnia or whatever. Is the 48 mg methadone getting you comfortable? Wouldn't be gaga on methadone and add benzos, only if you are straight on your current dose.
