Ok Hello every one , I have been going to my local methadone clinic for about 7 years now. I am on 120mg and I go once a month and pick up my months worth in one shot. Obviously to get the whole month you have to be clean and have clean Ua's for a set amount of time. I recently went to get a check up from a Primary care Dr and was prescribed xanax for anxiety. My question is what will my clinic do or say because of this? Obviously my methadone is the most important out of the two. I havent taken any xanax yet because I dont want to jeapordize my take homes.

How could you know? If you go to a clinic and take xanax thats how. If you dont have any feedback fuck off and dont respond.
Oh Ok thanks for the feedback man. I am going to wait to tell them before taking, BUt Ive heard so many different opinions on this subject,I just thought Id ask to see if anyone has been in my situation. But thanks for taking the time .

because the truth is, how could we know? because different methadone clinics handle things differently from other ones. ya know?
some may be fine with it, as they should since it was scripted by a doc. but I'm sure there are clinics out there that don't allow it because you'll be getting high with that combo for sure.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I started taking Xanax in November 2005 and have been on it ever since. I'm also on MMT since January of this year. When I started, I told them that I've been prescribed Xanax for Panic Disorder for a little over 4 years at the time and they were/are fine with it after I showed them my Rx bottles. It shows up in my urine tests in large amounts but they ignore it.
Yeah see that makes me feel alot better. I took it years ago and it worked great for me,for extra anxiety issues. I have a script for it so I hope there is no issue.Because my monthly take homes are as you can imagine pretty important to me......

One thing though, to be on the safe side, regardless of how much Xanax you've been Rx'd to take daily, start off (if you end up combining the two) with as low of a dose as you can to see how your body reacts when mixing Methadone & Xanax.

yes, xanax and methadone is a very strong combo, and has proven to be extremely lethal too if you're not careful.
I wasn't careful, and ended up getting a DUI and possession of xanax charge because I mixed the two and wasn't myself and drove. VERY BAD idea, def do not drive on xanax and methadone.

Wow it really does sound like some high powered octane shit when mixed . I was prescribed them for anxiety , I usually take my methadone in the morning. Im gonna try to only take the xanax in the evening or night so I can relax and sleep at night. Also i am a fast metaboliser of my meth. I know after all the years, that even if I miss a day I probably still have a very high level of meth in me. So I will def respect these two drugs. Thanks for the information TokinDerrick...

I didn't wanna say it to discourage you (if you legitimately need xanax) but there have been a ton of deaths from mixing methadone with xanax. What I didn't tell you about my situation concerning xanax and methadone is that at first my methadone doctor asked me if I could get my family doctor to switch my prescription from xanax to klonopin (clonazepam) or even valium (diazepam) because according to him xanax is one of the most if not the most dangerous benzo to combine with methadone. Be safe.
On the other hand though, if you have a big tolerance for both and you don't add another CNS depressant you'll be fine. I take 230mg of methadone daily and 0.5mg of xanax 3x a day and I'm fine.
