Methadone clinic question? Help please?

What's up guys I'm new to blue light my name is josh I'm from Pennsylvania I'm 20 years old addicted to heroin. I've been using for almost 2 years via the needle. Started out w/ vics percs morphine etc.. Anyway I went to a methadone clinic Thursday and talked to a counselor who ended up reviewing my insurance, make me sign a paper, and took my piss. They made copies of my I.d and insurance card & told me they will call when the drug results are in. It's been 3 days since.. Is this the usual wait time? Idk what to do at this point bc my withdraws are becoming worse and worse, help please???

I know this sounds mad - but in the uk i had to wait 6 weeks from initial assessment to getting a script in my hand - my doctors advice was to contiue using street heroin, albeit at a bare minimum, to avoid withdrawals in the meantime. Reasonable, realistic advice when it comes down to it.

If you dont score and endure w/d for 5 days or more - DONT ACCEPT THE METHADONE SCRIPT - as by this point you should be 48 hours from being physically 'clean' - get some pscychological treatment or support instead or a naloxone script if your genuinely motivated to not relapse

That's exactly what I've been doing in the meantime, using more H which I scored more today. I called back today and they told me they'll call when all is good. It's been 4 days so far but trying to go without anything at this point would be terrible. What I'm trying to do is get on the medication and get a new job as well. I won't be sick, won't have to worry about the next fix or waste $$$. Eventually taper down till I can live a drug free life !? I'll give the clinic another week & see what happens.. Anyway those are the goals ! Thank you for the info bro?
