Methadone clinic help

Im new to this site first off. Now I've been on opiates for about 5 years now from 16 years old. Do the math I'm 21, lol, anyway I love opiates and for the past two years I've held down a full time job, 46 hours a week while getting high, but now it's getting to difficult, to expensive and it's really not worth it anymore. Anyways about a month ago my "dealer" started getting the 10mg methadone, which I've done before they'd come around everyonce in a while and I'd pop about4 or5 to get fuvked up, but now thats the only thing I've been takin for a month I didn't exactly realize what I was getting myself into but I honestly think its better that dope, anyways I've been doing the dones for a month now I can't even take suboxone to kill withdrawals, it has to be dones and I've done as much as 100mg in a day and sometimes 30mg. What I'm wondering is if I go to the methadone clinic will they give me shit for not having oxy or h in my system? I've got plenty of methadone and pot and xanax but haven't done oxy In a month which I find to be a miracle. But my guys not sure if he's gonna continue with the dones and I'd rather go to a clinic to save money. If I don't have the dones I'm sicker than I was when I was doing 200 MSG of oxy in a day so I'm just wondering A. How the clinic works, and B. I live 25 minutes away from it and what if my car fucks up and can't make it one say, and finally do you have to have oxy in your system or could they Just test me for dones. Oh ya I wouldn't have to quit smoking weed if I go there would I? That's my favorite thing ever, and thanks for all the responses and help. My first time on the site.

Clinics work differently depending on where you live. I don't know the methadone situation in Florida, though. What I do know: I don't think they'll give you trouble for not finding any "regular" opiate in your blood. They can distinguish between methadone and regular opiates. If they find methadone, just say you're addicted to methadone (which is the case imo, one month on 30 to 100mg a day is enough to be in withdrawal if you stop cold turkey). I don't think they'll give you trouble for that.

For the marijuana situation, I know it depends on the state you live in. Florida must be tough on the subject imo, though.

If your car fucks up, well, what can I say, you're in for some discomfort... imo still. Good luck.

A few years ago I worked briefly at a methadone clinic in the southern USA. You certainly don't need to test positive for typical opiates; if you tell them you currently regularly using methadone it shouldn't make a big difference to them. IME it was not uncommon for patients to piss clean for opiates because many of them were switching over from suboxone maintenance.

Its very likely you won't be able to smoke marijuana. Clinics aren't usually very tolerant of that sort of thing.

If your car breaks I guess you better get walking.

Thanks for everyone's input, definitely appreciate it. And ya for a while I was wanting to get high off the methadone, now honestly I've come to the point where I just want to be normal again with out pills, and it sucks having to do the methadone treatment, but honestly it's the only thing that's keeping me of oxy/roxy. I was on suboxone for about 8 month but I would switch off between suboxone and oxy, when i couldn't afford to gt high I'd take my subs, I always had them, not me going, one of my friends got em prescribed, but I pretty much was his sponsor lol I'd pay for his visit, 150 every month, he'd pay for the script and we'd split it, anyways so even while on subs I still was getting high on pills, There would even be days where I would take 4mgs of sub then two hours later I'd buy 5 blues, so what I'm saying is the subs wouldn't keep me off pills they honestly didn't kill the cravings, and that's partly my fault also I'm not goin to blame anyone but me for what I've gotten into. But methadone has kept me of the pills,I haven't wanted any oxy or hydromorphone or whatever, just dones, and now I've come to the point where I don't wanna be to high, and of course not sick, so hopefully i can get on this clinic, stay at a decent dose, (100mg I was obviously trying to get real fucked up lol) but I don't wanna go above that, but thanks again for all the help and input!!!

Hi mate. I don't know how different the clinics are in the USA, but in the UK they don't even bother testing for weed. Also, it shouldn't matter that you've got no oxys in your system - you're still an opioid addict and should get treatment.

Ya I'm really hesitant to go in there after reading all the stories, but I have to admit its the only thing thats kept me off oxy comfortably, but just because it's another opiate. I wish I never got started with it to be honest. But it's definitely time for a change and hopefully this one will work, I'm just a little nervous, i fucking hate withdrawal, but hey who does like? Lol

Well, just as a heads up.....I am on a MMTP and have been for the past 28 years. Originally I got on cuz I was pregnant. I had all intentions of gettin' off after the baby was born....yet here I am 28 years later and I'm STILL on this crap. Yes, it saved me from a horrid life of crime and unhealthiness, but do yer homework and really think about yer decision carefully. I know I'm not the norm but there ARE a lotta us out there who are still bound by the "liquid handcuffs". And keep in mind that ya gotta be willin' to abide by ALL of their rules...whether they seem sensible or not. Good luck to ya.

I've been on MMT programs 3 times. This time around it's been 6yrs straight at 130mg/day. When I started, all I was using were the 40mg meth dispersible wafers and they took me in w/ no problem (same as w/ heroin the prior 2 times). All clinics are different though, but I'd not worry; I'm pretty sure they'll take you. FYI - fed laws have changed. Now there's no dosage cap for take-homes/carries, and you can get up to 4wks of take-homes at once (making it so you only have to go once per month). It's worked for me (I go to a private clinic though.....no waiting list, no waiting hrs to see the doctor and you don't get slammed if you slip and come up dirty on a urine test, no dose reductions or any of that crap).

Nice that's awesome because the closest and best clinic near me is 18 miles away, and I have to be at work at 930 everyday, Im nervous I have 2 10mg dones left and I'm finally going in tomorrow morning, I have to be there at fuckin 5am to get me signed up or whatever, I did do hydromorphone the other day so I have that in my system I hope they don't give me shit about weed either, it's an outpatient program, I'm goin to get off opiates and oxy and pain killers not weed, I will smoke bud for a while, so really hope they don't fuck me. Any advice I'm going tomorrow and have been taking between 40-100 mg per day (when I took a 100 it was 5 in the morning and 5 more after work to get fucked up lol) so I've only been doin it a month or so now, I really don't wanna get to high, I don't wanna pass 100 mg really, but I think I'll need more than 30, we'll see. It's 14 bucks a day with no deposit, I hope it's privately owned, any help or advice would be great I'm real nervous. Also right when I pulled in to my apartment complex my right tire blew from a nail in there I did not see, luckily I got a decent spare on there and haven't driven anywhere yet cuz I know they 50 miles all they last, but right after I go to the clinic I'm going to the auto body shop to get it fixed so I think I'll be driving 40 miles total, hopefully it at least makes it to the clinic I definitely don't wanna be sick, these w/d suck

Oh &pr0d1gy I have been taking subs before I relapsed on blues and then I started getting methadone regularly, subs didn't keep me off I would just wanna get high the same day and I would, but dones totally kill the craving, i really don't wanna be there to long just between 6 months to a year just enough to stop wanting to get high.

Just because that is legal now doesn't necessarily mean clinics will do it. It varies from clinic to clinic, but many expect people to be clean from all other drugs for years before even considering giving them 4 week take-homes.

When I started MMT back in Jan of this year...I worried about the same thing...I ran out of oxy's and norco right before XMas and scored 90 10 mg dones...anyway that lasted me until the 9th of Jan and I was scared the clinic would not accept me becuase I only had done in my system...I went to the clinic and just told them I was in withdrawel(I was at the beginning stages of done withdawel) and I got them(methadone) off the street because I could not score anything else... they still took me and even could not get any blood from me that first day because I was so dehydrated my viens kept collapsing they told me I could just pee the next day too...they went ahead and dosed me 30 mg's that first day...I guess every clinic is different..I would have been screwed if I would have had to have anything other than done in my system.

Can I add, for myself when I started on Methadones taking them they were good and I loved them and eah better than dope but on MMT you stablise at a dose and there's 0 high all it is is a med that helps you be "clean". Give subutex/one a tougtht too.

Now a guy I spoke to was a drinker took DHC, tramadol and methadone and started STRAIGHT on 90mg - appearently his mate got 1L/1G and split it with him he paid a stupid low price but he meanted the amount etc to the doc and that's what got.

My mate had 0 opiates in his system but was in FENT wd - he had to explain everything and showed her he had patches on and he was lucky he got on. <snip>

Ya man I guess me and you were in the same exact situation. Everything worked out been on it for 9 days now, they up you pretty slow but I'm at 60 mgs right now (tbh I s ores bout 10 10mg pills and took 5 yesterday and 5 today, fuck I'm really high lol. But I already told my counselor I don't wanna go any higher than 100mg tbh I'd rather not go that high, but I really really hope they don't care bout weed I've only been drug tested 1nce and that was my 1st day, I went on a coke binge for two days my 4th and 5th day of the program, I was nervous they would test me but they didn't, but I heard they only test like once or twice a month. But I really hope they don't give me problems about weed, bud is more like my medicine I enjoy and really enjoy it and kind of need it for isomnia and mild anxiety but I really enjoy it and will not stop that, so I really hope they care less about it or there will be a problem,fuck..

the clinic i go to (baltimore, MD...tons of opiate addicts) they kinda treat you on a case by case basis. my sister and i both go and they tolerate us both smoking and taking occasional benzos, we just dont get take homes and wouldnt be allowed to dose higher than 110 daily. im on 110 shes on like 60 i think. Now if you look at a vast majoirty of ppl who go to this clinic, they look the part to the tee. Neither of us have any criminal history and def do not look like MMT patients, tho she looks totally out of place, i look like a stoner, or so i am told.

they will def treat you tho, illicit opiate use is what it is regardless of the actual drug. hell, they almost always start everyone on 30mgs a day so you should be pretty comfortable right from the get go. like i said about the weed, some places dont really care. wheather it be from lack of funding for constant drug testing, or large number of patients. it just may cost you takehomes privliges, and it sounds like those would be a lifesaver for you. good luck and let everyone know how it goes.

Appreciate the input medicine cabinet. And I'm exactly like you pretty much. I look out of place, I just look like a stoner, not an opiate addict. But now a days you can't really put a face on it because so many people are doing opiates, it's crazy. But I'm still at 60mgs that's all I took today and feel good, not to high but definitely got a buzz. Definitely appreciate all the advice and hope you guys keep it coming thanks

i live in florida and goto the clinic. theone by me you gottsbe therre from 6 to 11am or you dont get dosed and its everysingle day. no pot or they mame you go to classes. too many faileddrug tests thry kick you out. im omw outa there tho too a nnoying rather just take my pills

Also it's been working well for me, besides the long ass lines on Fridays and holidays. Yesterday (labor day) I literally waited in line for an hour and a half, fukin ridiculous. Anyways I'm at 80mgs now and feel good, not looking to exceed 100mg. I've continued to smoke bud daily, they haven't even drug tested me a second time and it's been 15 days since I started. I really hope they won't give me shit about the bud, that's my main medicine and really don't wanna stop that, but take homes would be a life saver for me, because it's 19 miles each way, which really ain't bad as long as I'm making money and continue to work not a big deal, the gas is killing me though. Oh well it gets me to be productive in the morning and not so lazy
