Opioids Methadone burned mouth when taken it sublingually

I'm on 140mg/day MMT. I took one of my take-home bottles sublingually today and after keping it all in my mouth for a few seconds it started to burn and tingle---very simiilar to the feeling of keeping mouthwash in your mouth for too long.

Has anyone felt this before or had a similar experience? Its the red, cherry-ish flavored type, and I don't mind the taste of it, at all, normally. This was the first time I held it in my mouth and the stinging, burning lasted for about 5-10 minutes, even after I washed out my mouth with water and food.

Was that from the methadone itself or was it from a flavoring or addative in the solution. Anyone have any thoughts?

I can't speak for the liquid methadose, however, with the tablets, I've noticed that my Malli 10mg methadone tablets (I think they say 5771 or somethin) burn worse than absolutely any thing else.

I once snorted one and it induced more pain than the 2C-compounds and it absolute put meth's burn to shame.

Never again will I take methadone via any ROA besides orally, I'm pretty sure they do this to deter abuse, and in this case... it worked to deter me from abusing it, that's for damn sure.

Methadone plugged is a really good alternative ROA. The BA is slightly lower than oral, but the fast onset and long duration makes up for it. From what I've heard from people who've injected methadone or snorted it, is that it burns. I'm pretty sure that it's just the nature of the substance much like diphenhydramine.

Methadone is very corrisive I would say. I know the psyeptone tablets burn and methadone ampules. I would of blamed Methadone ampules IV (they are licenced for sc/im for needle fixation) for the collaspe and damage I've done to my veims saying that, being pure you CAN just IM it unlike uk #3 Heroin but I would say H was lighter. The ampules DID have another preserve and I had were by martain dale 20mg and frig I forget but more like 2ml per amp, I would normally abuse 4-6 together iv after on another - thinking back would of made sense just using 4ml syringes.

offtopic sorry but anyway resaon 8 why methadone oral is cut down (ie 1mg per 1ml) and sweetened to hide that horrid taste I would guess.

I've plugged methadone a lot, that's fine, forgive me I guess I didn't mean ANY roa besides orally, but orally or rectally, but I prefer oral dosing still

Yea, I plug my take home if I'm bored. It helps me stay away from dope TBH, same with amphetamine. But for chronic dosing oral seems to be the most consistant.

I never had it sitting long in my mouth before to burn, but a few seconds in my mouth (orange wafers dissolved in small bottle of water as takehomes or in a cup at clinic window) will leave a tingle. I will be sure to not let that shit linger in my mouth.

I wonder if people who have stomach ulcers get problems from taking Methadone orally?

I've experienced the same thing, with many ROAs (intranasal, rectal, sublingual, even oral gives me some stomach discomfort). I don't know why it is though.

Does anyone know if SL methadone results in a quicker onset vs oral?

I only did about 40mgs SL and that was about 6 hours after taking my usual 140mg dose orally, so I couldn't really tell if it had any different effects than when taken orally.

I'd suffer the burn again with a full take home dose if peoples' experiences say there's some benefit to doing so.

(No interest in plugging, my takehome is 30ml's and that's just too much liquid, at least it is for me)

I agree completely, however I have tried liquid methadone and it still burns like hell when used sublingually.

I think it's the methadone itself; I don't think it's something added to it to deter abuse, because I know exactly what the inactive ingredients in the methadone pills I have are and none of them should cause burning, but when I took it sublingually it burned like hell. I also didn't find it worked any better sublingually personally, in fact it seemed to work worse if anything.

I accidentally got some of this stuff in my airways by accident swallowing the wrong way and it burned to the point where I was coughing and my eyes were watering. Methadone is no fucking joke.
