Does An Acidic Enviorement Like after Drinking Lemon Juice Or Eating Food Make you get Less Methadone into your Peak Plasma Concentration Levels And Is A Non-Acidic Stomach Good for MAXIMAL Methadone Absorption.

Shouldn't matter. Check the pharmacological data on the package insert for the formulation of methadone you're taking. Search the web for "Methadose package insert" or the like and you'll find the FDA approved labeling for the product, in there you'll find an answer. It may not be the final word but there is info on absorption w/ and w/o food on the full label for any US pharmaceutical that is an oral formulation.

I don't believe that acidity levels in your stomach would effect the absorption/BA/serum levels of methadone.
I have however heard of grapefruit juice enhancing the effects of several benzos through some sort of enzyme interaction (CYP3 or something). I'm sure there is plenty of info on that subject here on BL.

If fFood and Acididty dont effect it than why is the Bioavailability Anywhere from 50% Roughy And Can Be Up To 90%+ How Do I get it ot Absorb as much as I Possibly Can.

To answer your question--yes. Methadone is highly pH dependent for maximum absorption. It prefers a more alkaline environment. When your body is acidic, up to one third of dose can be excreted unchanged in your urine

I don't feel like hunting for sources but if you google "methadone and pH" or "methadone and urine pH" you should get some texts that explain it pretty well

^^^ Yep. I'm surprised no one knows this, I mean all opioids are slightly alkaline, so they all prefer a basic environment. But methadone is highly PH dependent. A low stomach PH crushes bioavailability, and low urine PH decreases half-life, as my good friend, Crzydiamond mentioned.

In addition, a very slight decrease in plasma PH increases the amount of free methadone in blood(but please don't mess with the PH of blood!)

So yes, methadone is a spoiled rotten opioid, which whines "I'm synthetic and I don't like acid! WHAAA!!!!"

I remember when I was on the methadone clinic the orientation booklet they handed out said not to take cimetidine(tagamet)with it because it could result in higher concentrations of methadone in your system.

I have also heard about Cimetidine and Phenergan with Methadone resulting in higher concentrations in your body.
I know lots of people that have reported taking Phenergan (anti allergic) with Oxys to make it last longer.
Same with Tagamet.
It´s written in the label.
