Methadone and Opana/oxymorphone

I have never taken methadone before and neither has my boyfriend. We have been active users of oxy 30's for about a year now, daily. We each take about 90mg of oxy a day each. We each took a 10mg methadone pill today around 4pm and have a few opana 40mg. My question is with a tolerance level that is fairly high would we be okay to take the opana? Thanks everyone!

^^ yes, that should be fine, but as always stated, only you know your body. If you do choose to take the opana, then just take one and no more, it should boost your high for sure. Be safe.

You're only familar with small time painkillers. I wouldn't recommend taking a lot of Opana....a VERY dangerous drug for the opiate naive. This isn't comparable to any of the painkillers you mentioned and I have had two friends OD and die off of a small amount. Be careful, you don't sound like you have very much of a tolerance to be mixing 50MG of methadone and then adding more Opana...really, that's stupid.

40mgs Opana (oral) = around 80mgs oxycodone (oral) (from this thread) - however this is a rough guide only and people vary. If you haven't taken it before then I definitely would not take it on top of methadone in case it is too much. Have you taken oxycodone today as well?

please dont swallow those opanas!!!! your wastin em if not, put em up your nose. You get alot higher, and opanas+methadone= cant get enuff of that shit. its a good thing i cant get it on the reg, otherwise id be an addict fo sho

Seeing as 40mg oral Opana/oxymorphine is pretty much equivalent to the oxycodone dose the OP usually takes, advising them to snort them and take them alongside methadone is dangerous advice and is likely to result in an overdose.

Please don't do that.. If you want to snort them then take a look at the bioavailability megathread - snorting oxymorphone can be 4 times as strong as taking it orally, so you wouldn't want to snort more than 10mgs (which would be equivalent to 80mgs oxycodone). Again it would not be a good idea do to this on top of taking the methadone, however.

I just refilled my 10 mg opana er (new rush resistant rock). Gave me the most horrible stomach cramps. Anyhow, I comPlained to my PM Dr. And he is switching me to Methadone tomorrow. From what I read methadone blocks opiate receptors in brain so if u take methadone plus another opiate you are just wasting valuable meds. You have had luck using both methadone and opana? How did you administer them? Orally? Crush proof become a glob so I cannot Insuffilate and oral biovility is around10%- so I've been dissolving in about 10 cc'd of water and plugging. Or chewing for about 5 mIn and Plugging. Stops WD's and helps a bit with pain but nothing like OG opana ER crushed and snorted.
I'm curious about methadone cocktails..
If I had a choice I'd go back to OG opana or hydrocodone. But I dOnt get to PIck my mds. My Drs. Just play switch the meds on me.

thank you so much Effie.. i am just learning how to get around here and i usually check in with my iphone. i did take 15 mgs of percocet this morning. then, about two hours later i took 20 mgs of the new opana glob and plugged it with a contraption i made out of an oral syringe and enema tip. i felt totally spacey.. a bit too noddy. i also had facial bloating. a few people asked if i was crying today. i am so tired now. it wasn't fun euphoric. now my ankles feel swollen and i just drank about half a gallon of water and took two otc diuretics. i really need to be careful with what i am doing. i am so afraid of getting dope sick but i am also curious about this new formula. I am meeting with my new Pain Management Dr. tomorrow. I am not sure what to say. should i stay on this crappy wax/plastic opana. move on to methadone (which i heard makes you gain weight).. or see what he suggests? i am worried i will just be cut off cold turkey. this will be my 3rd PM dr switch in a year and a half. I really liked the old opana formula. it didn't make me feel tired or noddy and it totally took my anxiety, Sacroiliitis and arthritis pain away. oramorph made me tired all day and didn't do much for the pain.
maybe i will stick to 10-15 mgs of new opana plugged and see how i do with that. 20 seems to be too much for me.

Small time painkillers? Codeine, hydrocodone and oxycodone are small time painkillers - methadone is NOT no small time opioid. Methadone is far more dangerous than oxymorphone and I even read a study that compared methadone and oxymorphone for the relief of neuropathic pain and the conclusion of the study said that methadone provided better analgesia then oxymorphone did. I'll try to dig up that paper.

methadone in what quantity? i was having WD's this morning and i took a 5mg methadone pill.. and i was still so sick. so i chewed another 5 mg- held it under my tongue as long as possible (it burned a little) and i felt a bit better but not great.
i am so worried my PM Dr has taken me off all opiate medication and put me on topomax now. i would rather have those shitty plastic new opana than nothing!!
so i will try the topomax and see how that goes for now. i will be in a world of hurt, WD's and depression very soon.
