Opioids Methadone and drinking

I’ve been on methadone for 3 years now. I haven’t had a drink since I started it out of fear of something bad happening, and I really just want to have a casual drink…

How dangerous is it ACTUALLY? I used to drink all the time when I was on subutex, no problem, but I’ve always been too scared to drink with the methadone. I’m on 70mg in the am and 60mg at night.
 
If you do not overdo the drinking you will be fine. I would say limit to 2-3 drinks on that level of Methadone.

However if you are a seasoned addict, starting to drink again will tend to open the substance abuse door and holds open. Alcohol is one of those "lion behind the tree" drugs that hypnotically increases in use quickly. If your going to do it, take one 2-3 ounce shot of 80-100 proof and sit on the warmth and head change.
 
Ive never taken methadone but ive not had a problem having a few pints on any other opiate. Morphine is my opiate of choice and as long as i dont overdfo it im ok. I find benzos to be a bigger worry mixing with booze honestly cause of delusions of sobriety The worst that happens with morphine and beer usually is you puke

Def no hard liquor with methadone though
 
My friend died after dosing methadone without major tolerance and drinking a bottle of wine.

But if you have tolerance, it's probably not going to kill you in moderation. Just don't get crazy drunk, yeah?

Especially if you are in recovery. Fuck alcohol. So many junkies think they can start drinking and end up drinking themselves to death. I'm one of them.
 
I def have a tolerance but I shouldn’t risk it. It’s okay, I’ll be okay, just feel left out sometimes, you know?
 
This is just my opinion and a lot disagree but ive never found the combo of alcohol and opiates enjoyable except with very small doses of alcohol. Otherwise, the two substances clash with each other. Alcohol dulls out the soft opiate bliss and opiates dull out the exciting alcohol euphoria.
 
Only term daily dosing 80mg will have you properly tolerant after time, many months, years +

DDI you need to be aware of withMethadone

Methadone 100-125mg daily
Ritalin (Methylphenidate) 50-70mg
Diazepam (Valium) 30mg
Pregabalin (Lyrica) 300mg
Ethanol 2.oz drinks

Alll taken in same drink…..20+ years it’s perfect safe for me to add several CNS depressants in moderate doses

The dopaminergic stimulant Ritlain keeps me mentally alert and focused increases positive effects of all other substances

I don’t feel anything from the methadone anymore
 
I dont drink on methadone either and im only on 50mg in the morning. there is just no anxiety to kill
