Opioids methadone and certain antibiotics causing faster metabolism of methadone?

I have been on MMT for 19 years and recently was prescribed clindamycin for a really horrid abscess I have. ( still battling this damn thing 10 days in! ) anyway, I noticed that the day after starting the antibiotics that I felt as though I hadn't even taken my methadone within 12 hours of taking it. It seems to be going through my system extremely fast. I've been on the antibiotics for 6 days now and have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms far earlier than I should. my dose has always held me before. So I am wondering if anyone knows or has heard of certain antibiotics causing your body to metabolize faster? I know that there are plenty of other drugs that interfere with the body's metabolism of methadone, and i'm curious if anyone has heard of particular antibiotics doing that. any input is appreciated!

I'm pretty sure certain antibiotics can increase metabolism with opioids. I believe rifampin does in particular.

I know some antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin) that increases the effect of opiods..but some other drugs like rifabicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine and some others, decreases the effect of the opiod. This happens by a:the opiod stays more in the plasma, and b:the opiod stays less in the plasma(blood), AFAIK. Hope i helped you: \...
