methadone and ativan help...please respond..

i'm a moderate recreational opiate user, 15-20mg of oxycodone usually has me feeling pretty good...recently my guy ran out of percocet and gave me some 10mg methadone. i've also had a prescription for 2mg lorazepam for about a year which i take infrequently (once a week, at most).

i'm a little freaked out right now because i just took a 10mg methadone and had also taken 1/2 of one of my ativans (1mg), and i just stumbled on all this information of what a deadly combo this can be...can someone please tell me if this is true even at this low of a dose? i tried to throw up the pills but was unsuccessful...am i overreacting or should i continue trying to barf these things up? is this low of a dose safe? thanks for any input....

since you have a tolerance to benzos overdose will most likely not be an issue

especially since you only took 10 mgs of methadone

thanks for the response...i'm most worried about the respiratory failure i've been reading about on here, but it seems that this is related to much higher doses than 10mg dones & 1 mg of lorazepam. i'm freaking myself out at this point which will ruin any chance i have of catching a buzz anyway, i'm hoping my dose was small enough not to do any damage. i'd appreciate any other input at all on this, something to help me chill the fuck out

you should research drug combination's before you take them in the future

that way you won't have to worry so much

i know, i had taken 1/2 the ativan about 30 min before and didn't even think about it when i ate the 'done....stupid mistake. won't happen again! it's only 7:30 where i'm at and i'll probably be staying up til 12:30-1; i'm paranoid of nodding off and not waking up or something!
(i take the ativan because i get moderate to bad anxiety triggered by the most mundane shit, so this whole 'killer drug combo' scenario is setting me off pretty bad...a little ironic if you ask me...)

You're probably cool with the combo you took since you have a tolerance to the ativan. You're more likely to just fall asleep or nod mildly than OD from respiratory depression.

But you're right to be concerned. I was recently put on methadone for pain management. I have a medium tolerance to opiates (120mg oxycodone to get me feeling okay. Up to 240 to nod), have been taking them for years, and 30mg of methadone will put me to sleep. 35mg will make me nod. Not a massive nod, but that irritating, sneak-up-on-you-while-driving, have-to-put-fingers-in-your-eyes nod which is just as dangerous.

So when you take the methadone next time, don't up the dose and take it early in the day. Then take your ativan at night. I take .5mg xanax at night and have a tolerance but I just don't fuck with the combo. Methadone in the morning, xanax at night and I'm okay.

Methdadone is weird and powerful stuff. You're very wise to be careful with it.

10mg methadone isn't much you'll be fine... when i was on MMT i had 90mg methadone+3mg xanax+4mg lormetazepam

Don't keep worrying about it...you'll be fine. You have a slight tolerance to benzodiazepines and you only took 10mg of Methadone.

phatass: I was also on MMT. My max dose of Methadone was 110mg and at the time I was prescribed 6mg Xanax. I had been prescribed benzodiazepines daily for years. Still on them, not the methadone.

I need information on Ativan and methadone.. Please excuse me I'm new at blogs so if this is in the wrong spot I'm so sorry but I am on a high dose of methadone and I take prescription ativan for anxiety I know mixing the two is dangerous so I don't mix the two at the same time of day but I was wondering if taking my ativan at night and waking up with that drowsiness will effect my dose of methadone negatively for exams take away from the effects of the methadone that I oh so crave?

Wait so you were doing the methadone Maintenance correct? And on top of your daily dose of methadone @ 90mgs you proceed to take 3mgs of Xanax and 4mg of Ativan... And your still alive to type in this forum? Dang man that sounds awfully dangerously to me. I can't see or get how that'd be used in a medical setting for pain tolerance and stuff of that sort cuz that's just way to high a dose of everything you've listed. I just take 30mgs (done) daily and when I take just 1mg fucken Xanax and 1mg of Lorazepam.... Oh god it was Terrible experience.. couldn't stay awake didn't remember trying to fuck my neighbor I've lived next to and been super close with since childhood and just made a total ass outta myself. Either you have a ridiculous tolerance or you were extremely fucked up lemme know what you felt like
