Hello, i have had this theory for a long time now as well as others. Sometimes it seems like the older/well used pipes make your dope burn up alot faster than before or than with a newer pipe. Not burn up as in burning it burnt, but as in it just goes through the shit quicker. I've thought maybe when you torch the bowl out (where it leaves that black stain after the bowl is gone) that the stain gets etched into the glass tiny bit each time and maybe somehow that does it or? I know that everytime you heat up glass really hot it gets weaker or more brittle everytime it cools down. ( atleast the faster it gets cooled down)
This has been something thats been digging at my brain so long now so if anyone has any experience, ideas or theories i would greatly appreciate it very much so. Thank you for your time.

The glass thins out the more you heat it up, it becomes more susceptible to heat especially if you burn it clean with a torch

Also while the black residue (carbo asn, other organic shit)the white residue (salt) does not burn off and will just melt into the glass making it cloudy.rinse it out and use a cotton bud to clean it out rather than torching it.

The horrid smell you get from cleaning your bowl via torch just cancels out the convenience of it.
Quick way to clear out a room of lingering tweakers when u wanna go to bed, though lol

That's what I figured. But the weird thing is, lately I've been using a quartz oil burner pipe just like the glass ones but quartz. And I personally like it a lot more. Yeah it stays hotter longer and takes more to heat it up but I just use a wet rag to cool it off and a WIDE flame torch to smoke with. (I love the wide flame torches vs the pin pointy ones so much more) plus you get a extra fatty couple hits.and there virtually indistructable, wont crack from temp change or break when dropped or thrown (except maybe concrete..)But now Inoticed that even that one now is burning the shit up a lot faster than before. So you think if I get a new one and never torched it out real hot to clean it, it'll be fine or what? Thank you all for your replys! Much appreciated

What do you mean by carbo asn, other organic shit? And the white residue your referring to the white ash after torching it?

By carbon I mean black residue after smoking before torching.the white residue is what u r sometimes left with after smoking before torching if the shards had salt residue in it.
