I remember answer a post the other day about taking amphetamines with epedrine. At the time I suggested that while I didn't think it was a fun idea it should probably potentiate the meth a small amount (by competing for the CYP2D^ pathway). Thinking about it a little more made me realize that I am not really sure what happens.
It seems that meth works alot like E. A significant part of its effect comes from entering the neuron and realesing vesicular dopamine and reversing the reuptake transporter. In order to do these things one would expect, just like E, that the reuptake transporter can't be blocked. Taking E with an SSRI certainly kills the E effect.
So the major effects from ritalin and ephedra seem to come from just blocking reuptake. It seems in theory this might prevent the meth from acting. So does anyone have any experience combinging either of these substances with high doses of meth?
Although cocaine might be a little more complicated in its action has anyone noticed a decrease in effects from high doses of meth after consuming a reasonable amount of coke?
Any thoughts on what is going on here would be appreciated as well.
