Ok I am a 41 year old female that has drank alcohol consistantly for aprox 8 years and one day I decided Im bored of drinking so I stopped. I have have also been a pot smoker for aprox 20 years and Im tired of the munchies and how stupid I get on the stuff especially being a business owner. Since Easter 2012 I tried Meth and for my first time I really didnt like the fact that I didnt sleep for over 24 hrs but I do believe its because I smoked too much for my first time so a few weeks went by and the girl that introduced it to me came over and I tried it again just not as much 3-4 hauls and it was great. It really enhanced my modivation to perform at work, interact with people without being shy and the ideas kept coming regarding to my business. So instead of mooching off my friend I decided to by some for myself.
Once my first purchase was gone I decided to lay off for aprox a week with no side affects other than I ate a lot which really bothered me considering I have alway battled with my weight, smoking and drinking coolers didnt help with the weight gain lol.
I have been research all and everything about meth and yes the decaying teeth is a concern to me since my teeth are week to begin with.
All I have read about meth is that its going to kill you and or put you in jail and that you are hooked almost immediantly well Im sorry I really do believe thats bull. I am a firm believeing that everything in moderation. Now my big question to you is if I am able to maintain this balance am I fooling myself
The girl that introduced Meth to me has been doing it for aprox 15 years and she looks great, she has been able to raise 2 girls on her own, she takes care of business etc oh and she has all her teeth and does not look sickly.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated

there is always a risk of addiction. for everyone one person not addicted to a drug, you can prolly find 5 people who have had serious problems do to the same drug.

anon ---> OD

stimulants are my DOC for sure...and I only use once or twice a week, sometimes longer breaks in between that. I don't understand why you would come on here just to say this...kinda confused.

^ They seem to be having a battle with the stigma that follows Meth use. They're unsure if it's Meth playing a trick on them or maybe they have enough self control to use in moderation.

If you're feeling like stimulants can help you maybe you should go to your doctor and discuss how you feel you need something to give you a boost and focus. What they may give you will be weaker than meth, which would be a good thing, rather than smoking meth and being fully tweaked out for (important) stuff. I think it's hard for someone on Meth to hide the fact that they're under it's influence. Maybe you're just loving it at the moment because it's all so new to you and soon side effects will start to surface and you'll begin seeing negatives?

Even though you were able to quit drinking without any help, you DID drink for 8 years like you said. I don't think you'd make it out the other end the same if you did that kind of stint with meth. 8 years of drinking, 20 years of smoking pot, may suggest that you have somewhat of an addictive personality(assuming you used these substances habitually.) And addictive personalities fall victim to meth's ways the easiest I'd imagine Especially when smoking it.
Or maybe you can moderate your intake, but how do you define that? How often would you use? Where would you draw the line? And what about the risks of being caught with something illegal?
If you've found benefits in stimulants for yourself, then I would definitely talk to your doctor. If they think it's right for you then they would have you on a safer and more legal regime of stimulant use.

I personally found smoking it pretty damned compulsive. Sucked that glass dick for hours and got pretty fucked. Oral is most controllable ROA I think. Take Laika's advice and get scripted. Meth tends towards excess. :D

Yea trust me meth will rear it's head one day and show you that it's not the drug you think it is. If you are smoking it I can pretty much garuntee you will get fucked by the meth monster at some point.

I have been using once a week, 3 day binge foe many months now without escalation and without any health or anxiety issues or weekday cravings but who knows what the future holds.

I rekon you are gold if you stick to two critical rules

1. Never use daily
2. Never use functionally or rely on it for anything but recreation

Thats kept me safe with all the big guns for over 8 years, no dependance, withdrawals, rehab or any life impact (besides wasting money)
Not grandstanding, just saying it seems to work really well if you never rely on a substance for anything other then a good time. Good luck.

Same here. Been using IV for a year, once a week/once a fortnight. One good sized dose. NEVER re-dose. Usually if I start early enough in the morning, I can get some sleep around 4/5am the following morning. All good for work the day after.

I get all the housework done, super-productive with my writing/assignments whatever, and just a great time for 24 hours or so.

If you have simple rules and never break them, it can stay a positive and never become a negative.

1. Only buy when you can afford it.
2. Never re-dose and certainly don't binge over days.
3. Stay hydrated try to eat, shower and brush your teeth.
4. Eat well and exercise on those days you aren't using.
5. Don't do something stupid like bang half a gram. Moderate.

Anything the naysayers and the doom and gloom crowd have to say in opposition is moot if you stick to similar rules as such.

(ps. IV Meth use isn't good for your body. I'm not saying it's without risk, both health-wise and for your life generally. But those risks can be managed and lessened to a "safe" and acceptable level. And I would say drinking alcohol daily is just as bad if not worse for you in the long term than meth. Or anything. But alcohol is my pick here because the hypocrisy of the two-bottles-of-red a night, anti-drug brigade is stupefying and maddening. There's such a distorted perception of "hard" drugs in the general consciousness. And it's because meth use = the worst of the worst cases. Teeth and hair falling out. Scabs everywhere. Pale and gaunt. But that's the extreme. There's just as many healthy, casual users on the otherwise that no one ever hears about. /end rant. Anyway...

Just my two cents. I thoroughly enjoy my weekly/fortnightly use. I see it as a reward for otherwise being a productive member of society. Go to work. Pay my bills. Act conscientious. Try to be a good husband and a good friend. And I get to let my hair down - so to speak - and no one's any worse off.

Great post man.

You never redose? That is impressive man, and fuckin hard. I do 3 day binges as that is what it takes to get through my gram of crystal. Stopping before its finished would be tough lol.

I see you use it for some functional things. Dont you find it tempting to improve your others tasks or work and risk taking more regularly to do so?
Luckily i find meth very non functional. Writing takes so long due to obsessing and re writing, communications are unnecessarily coloured with emotion and irrelevant stuff but they worst thing is i just don't give a fuck about anything but pure hedonistic activity even if i really need to get work done.

Glad though else I may use more often. Cheers.

You're right on all the points you make.

The key is to only buy a point or two. So there is no more to take. And plus, when you get up into the half a gram territory, any rules will go out the window. I find up to two points I'm in complete control still (except those times I find myself wasting 4 hours doing something fucking pointless, which I admonish myself later for). I'm not tempted to call my guy and get more, I know enough is enough. However, a while back I did go through massive upheaval both professionally and personally because of a drug habit. So that's always in the back of my mind, reminding me to be sensible. Without that....all bets are off. If you've never been taken by a drug before, I don't think you even understand where the road can lead, and so, you just keep pushing it pushing it until something gives. I reached that once, never again. Because of that experience and the pain it caused me, my wife and my family and friends, I won't allow myself to cross those boundaries (rules) I set.

And yeah, I've written 10 pages of ridiculous bullshit, stream of consciousness, rambling gibberish I thought at the time was revelatory. Reading it back the next day is both hilarious and unsettling. haha. I can avoid that at lower doses though, thankfully. haha

i can go either way with stims. i could go years without but i enjoy them too much. i think theres a difference between a dependence and an enjoyment

Yeah, I really enjoy writing random stuff, the creative enhancement is very impressive, dont even need a second to think, constant writing for 12 hours straight results in some crazy stuff when you read it later. I like very high doses, like .3 oral dose as lower doses have annoying side effects, the larger oral doses are like godlike experiences for me but become very obsessive if not kept in check.

Yes, wish I could by less then a gram, guy wont sell it like that, also good crystal is so cheap here, its almost silly buying less then 1g, great but dangerous as well. So what i do is larger doses, get the G done as quick as possible. Im careful though, to high a dose turns into a very strange high, like the whole personality of the drug changes into a weird serious high with a delusion of mental clarity with a sinister undercurrent. Not fun.

Love my crystal, so many layers to the experience... *sigh*

Come back in a year or so and tell us how your life is coming along.

Really.

I'm glad your limited experiences with a powerful stimulant have left you feeling in control. I remember the same feeling five months into using heroin. Maybe you can control it, if not, enjoy the few months of denial you have left.

I'm closing this because it has nothing to do with harm reduction.

FACT-meth is one of the most addictive (if not the most] substances around.
