My questions are the following;

Question 1: What is the temperature at which Methamphetamine will aerosolize and does the quality of Methamphetamine alter the temperature at which it will aerosolize? If quality does cause variation is it within set parameters that can be identified and used to determine product quality without laboratory level testing being required?

Question 2: At what temperature does Methamphetamine alter from a solid state to a liquid state?

Question 3: At what temperature does Methamphetamine evaporate? (Also referred to as being boiled, burnt up or scorched).

Question 4: Does Methamphetamine resolidify from a liquid state back to a solid state after being heated at the same temperature it liquified from a solid state?

Question 5: When Methamphetamine cools after being heated what is the cause for it to 'Crack Back'?

Question 6: When Methamphetamine 'Cracks Back' is the pattern and/or appearance formed by the cooling Methamphetamine testament to the quality of the product? If so, what patterns formed by the product and/or what in the appearance of the product would indicate low, mid, or high quality product?

Question 7 (Apologies for this being a broad question): When smoking Methamphetamine at what temperature(s) does/do the cut(s) and impurities burn off? (A general average would suffice, instead of potentially listing multiple temperatures in the case multiple impurities were present).

Question 8: When smoking Methamphetamine using a heated, reshaped, and carboureated glass mini cigar tube as a pipe, what would be the cause of brownish colored stain like spots forming in the bowl? Would a simple method exist to remove these spots?

Question 9: As with most illicit drugs the quality of Methamphetamine that is available can be wildly inconsistent. For safety's sake does a simple method exist to take an amount of low quality product and safely remove the often hazardous impurities commonly found in low quality product without compromising the Methamphetamine?

Question 10: Depending on the Methamphetamine available at the time, when smoking in a pipe after you remove the heat and the product Cracks Back, with some product it will crack back but the color will have altered sometimes having a blue tinge or one of several more colors or sometimes with a rainbow of colors present. What could chemically alter a nearly translucent product in order to produce these results?

1. Depends on heat and pressure. If you took solid methamphetamine and smashed it through a screen door hard enough it would aerosolize.

2. 170 to 175 degrees celcius for the hydrochloride salt to melt.

3. Depends on pressure (i.e. how hard you inhale). There's no data fro the vapour pressure on google though, but by the time it has vapourized it's a freebase and not a salt, so I would imagine that it's close to 200 degrees. There's going to be a fair amount of thermal decomposition too.

4. Does glass resolidify if you cool it down from a liquid state at 400 degrees celcius? (N.B. methamphetamine-HCl will start to decompose into methamphetmaine freebase and hydrochloric acid when it vapourizes)

5. Cold air, etc hitting the hot methamphetmaine crystals (which also like to adsorb water), impurities etc

6. There's no relationship between any patterns of recrystallization from heat. I think if you were recrystallizing from solution though you could judge purity of the recrystallized gear from practice, but not by heating it in a lightbulb pipe and watching it resolidify.

7. This is impossible to quote a figure for because there's lots of impurities that will vapourize above meth, lots below, and a few right at the same temperature.

8. You're burning (pyrolizing) it. Use hexanes/naptha/acetone to clean scummy spots off?

9. Yeah, recrystallization if you have a lab and don't mind 50% yield.

10. Oxidisation if impurities already present by the heat and oxygen in the air.

Maybe this should go to ADD (Advanced Drug Discussion). The guys over there would be much better at answering your questions.
