Stimulants Meth before LASIK surgery?

I'm having LASIK done this Friday and was curious if meth would have any effect on it. I am in no way going to go in there tweaking my balls off. If I do it Wednesday and then sleep a nice 8+ hours Thursday night, would it affect it at all? I wasn't able to get any this past weekend and would like to do it one last time before I take a nice long break to allow my eyes time to heal.

AND... you are awake for the procedure, while they are slicing off the top of your vitreous eye and putting a new lens in. Do you really want to be tweaking while there's some 'fire in the sky' shit happening? lol...

You need to be able to stay as calm as possible while they are doing such delicate work. It's your eyesight, don't mess with that.
 
^Haha, yeah that sounds like an absolute nightmare, being high on speed while your eye is being operated on with lasers!

This is a joke, right?

He's not going to be *on* meth during the surgery. At the same time though, would you run a marathon before you had LASIK? Would you get crazy blackout drunk? Would you like to get the flu? 'Cause the effects are similar - thry all wear your body out and make it easier to succumb to infection.

Even if you get a good night's sleep your body's energy reserves will still be recovering.
 
I guess I should have specified, I don't do binges nor do I redose. I also eat and drink plenty of water while high. None of this would probably make a difference though right?
 
Lmao. I have yet to get any psychosis from meth but thanks for that. I get a valium in the morning which is another plus. With the full course meal eating and constant hydration, half of it would technically be out of my system by thursday and all of it by friday morning after a good nights rest.
 
I'm curious whether the drug would affect pupil dilation and constriction for that time period. They usually check the pupil dilation zone in an appointment beforehand though, so if you've cleared that then perhaps it isn't a big problem. Not a problem with the surgery, more of accurate measurements for the eye flap. Or if it really caused dry eye.
That may have been evaluated in pre-op though. I know my baseline pupil reactions were too off for lasek, but my eyes are weird with drugs and have a large pupil baseline. (Saucer eyes on escitalopram sometimes.)
Something to think about.
 
Checktest this is exactly what I was curious about. For my first appt my eyes blew up larger than MDMA ever did and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I start eyedrops 24 hours before surgery so I dont think dry eyes would be a problem. Ive only had meth effect my pupils once and Im pretty sure it was because I had done too much and was up for more than 24 hours without eating as much as I usually do on it. They were find after I slept a good 8-9 hours.
 
When I got hit by a car I had just taken my 40mg daily dose, which gives me euphoria and stimulation, I had no issues for emergency surgery and getting knocked out, but I'm sure they would have to give ppl something to lower they're vitals if they sense stims
 
I dont think you get put under for lasik?

Anyways, you need to keep still, i think this would be a problem situation, I would freak out about moving and getting my eye burned off.

Also dont go to the dentist on meth. Its not pleasant, that drilling sound, boring into your very soul, chipping away at your sanity getting dangerously close to completely loosing that already fragile composure you have and totally freaking out. And the hot young assistant, i could tell she was judging me the whole time. Dentists should not have pretty young assistants. The last thing you want is a pretty girl staring into your mouth and seeing all your weaknesses. Talk about feeling vulnerable. I so badly wanted to just bite her hand off before she realized i had a shard in my tooth.

I never went back there again, still have a half complete filling.
 
As the smarter BLers like Sekio have mentioned, its probably inadvisable. f you do truly get a solid 8 hours, after a single moderate dose, I dont see it being too big of a deal. Im certainly not advising you do this, but I know some people are going to do it regardless. I dosed repeatedly yesterday, a pipe bowl in the morning and a long rail that was well over a dime probably a 15 in the early afternon. I didnt sleep until 4 Am but I woke up at 8 today somewhat refreshed with no residual heart racing, jaw clenching, inability to sit still, etc. Otherwise things that probably wouldnt be acceptable during surgeries. I do not use often enough to even have a semblance of a tolerance.
 
They will give you a hypnotic before the LASAIK, but at a low does like 10mg temazepam - so if you're still affected by meth its not going to do fuck all in which case your surgeon would be wondering why your legs are still twitching wildly as he slices into your eyeball.
 
^ That sounds scary just thinking about it. I wanted lasik and the idea of getting my eye lasered makes me paranoid already, even when im not on meth. I would never even consider going if i was high.

I had this same exact experience years ago. Exact same thing...

I would strongly advice against using meth before getting LASIK. The bottom line is that you never know what might happen. They are performing delicate surgery on the only eyes you have.
 
I wouldn't chance shit, you are already nervous enough. I would be clean for a good 2-3 days. I had the PRK laser done to me and when your in the chair getting ready and seeing a knife come toward your eye along with a big machine above you, you are already worried and nervous you don't need to worry about anything else but just getting through the surgery.
