Silica can be bad for electronics, but it sounds like (from AI information) that this is only if silica directly contacts ports and other openings.

Regardless of whether silica is built up during meth use enough to effect this or not, maybe some funky affects could be due to excessive heat outside, or sweat from your body dripping onto the device.
