Meth and DNA

SWIM wants to know what meth does to a blood sample when mixed together outside the body.
SWIM needs to know if DNA is salvageable or if the salts in the meth attach to the strands and make it contaminated?

Why do you need to know if meth will destroy DNA in an external blood sample?
