Sorry if this is the wrong place. I’m going off to college soon, and am terrified about how my drug use might affect things. I’m going to a place that I’m excited for and don’t wanna fuck it up like I usually do. I think the only way I might be able to do the work is by taking speed, but I’m worried I’ll do what I always do, and take way too much, not sleep, etc.

I can’t imagine doing it clean but I also can’t imagine not going too far in the other direction.

Advice?

Generally speaking... methamphetamine is not a drug for this. Most people lack the willpower.

That being said... if you insist on trying this.

Buy speed. Wash said speed. Get an accurate scale and measure out 5 or 10mg doses and don't use any of it to get high. Dose orally. Limit yourself to a certain number of your tablets and no more, no matter what reasons your mind comes up with to take more. Sleep. Eat. Vitamins.

Sounds to me like you could possibly be suffering from some symptoms of the old ADHD, I understand it very poorly myself but have just started the process of getting assessed for it. I believe struggling greatly to motivate yourself to do things you know you have to do (and even want to do) and struggling to concentrate for long periods of time are some of the symptoms of it, does that resonate with you?

I asked for extensions on every. single. assignment I ever did at Uni, and I did 6 years bachelors and masters. Submitted many past the extension date, the second extension date and even straight up didn't submit some. Got fantastic marks on the ones I did manage to pull off. Still hold a lot of shame about that one.

I know this is off topic but when I was in college, everyone was just blazed throughout the week and prepping for weekend partying which including empathogens and psychedelics. But after weekend we got back to being disciplined so to speak and only did cannabis.

I and a most of my friends did the same ND we all finished college and got our diplomas and degrees for those taking it further...

So guess just in my time. Stimson weren't used for studying or anything like that in those lines..

Hey @gbchris :)

The way you have described your history with stimulants makes me hesitant. If you have already had serious issues with stimulants, then going into the college atmosphere could be the worst thing in the world for you. I hate to be an old guy, but peer pressure is heavy. There will be folks who can use stimulants without breaking down constantly implying that "everybody's doing it" and "it's not that bad".

The attitude that stimulants will be needed needs to change. If you've had issues with the stuff in the past, I recommend not to mess with it. It could ruin you entire college career. If you are in desperate need of a stimulant, you could potentially try something like Modafinil (Provigil) though I recommend against any of the CNS stimulants including the weaker ones like Methylphenidate (Ritalin). They're all abusable.

I used stimulants in college. I always thought I had to have them to do my work. Perhaps I did. I also was completely fucked up on other drugs and living a chaotic life full of regrets that I feel to this very day. If I could go back and do it again, would I have been different? I'm not sure. I do believe that the stimulants helped me with my work, though I also believe their usage contributed to the development of my addiction(s).

Just some things to consider man.
