i just feel like the tolerance ive built to opiates is insanely ridiculous and wud like to see what actual opiate addicts use ranges from, mentioning how long uve been using wud be helpful too. no judgments, i say if ur a daily drug user or u have the need/compulsion to use at certain times, then u cant be druggist, an addict is an addict is an addict.
ok so i have legit neck and back chronic pain, tho for some fucked up reason doctors give me nothing for it. but seeing as im clearly a person that has easy access to one of the hardest drugs in the world, i can get hold of opiates as i please. however, i do not get any recreational enjoyment out of taking them, i like being awake, uppity, energetic, euphoric hence my doc, nodding out is the furthest thing from fun to me and i only take opiates when the pain is really bad, id never take it just for the sake of it.
oddly enough ive never even gotten opiate withdrawals, even after a few months of use. however in the past year my use more goes along the lines of using maybe 3 times a week at most, sometimes nothing for months cuz massive doses dont help any more. ok, so now to what i suspect is ridiculous tolerance compared to the way i use opiates:
800 mg codeine was doing nothing a few months ago. after a few months break 100 mg still did nothing, before after a break id feel pretty good on that amount, and never needed more than around 300 mg before choosing to have a break, i was at 800 mg in the same amount of time i'd usually be at 300 mg.
2-4 50 mg tramadols work the first two times recently, and also after a few months break, then didnt any more (i read about drug precautions and adverse effects etc so have never exceeded the stated 8 due to possible likelihood of seizures at higher doses, nor do i do my codeine doses in preparations that mix paracetamol with it as im aware of the side effects of paracetamol too).
10 mg oxymorphone did almost nothing, did 5 mg first to be cautious and felt nothing til the other half, but it was only barely a noticable feeling, didnt help the terrible pain due to sitting in cars a lot for tw days. however this is a new connect and i know 3 or so would be helpful, but for how long? probably not long at all as usual. another friend who has a tramadol prescription took 5 mg oxymorphone and got sick as hell, way too much for them (i cud see that coming tho, oxymorphone is a shitload stronger than tramadol).
all my friends are flat on the floor zonked out on between 20-90 mg codeine, one said 'ur gonna pass out after all that!' when he saw me take 450 mg codeine and i told him and proved to him 'na, time to go to town like we said we were' and then still took more a while later cuz it wasnt touching sides.
ive had a build up of tolerance ever since my pain condition began a decade ago, but its never gotten this extreme up until i started using meth, not sure if meth massively decreases opiates effects or if thats just a coincidence. i understand the speedballing effect, tho surely something like two tramadols shudnt work at all then, and they still do the first and maybe second time after a break. and im not always tweaked out when i take opiates, tbh taking them is probably most prevalent when im coming down from a meth binge, tho my pain can flare up at any time, there arent necessarily specific things that set it off, tho its usually inevitable that im gonna hurt like hell while coming down. as an aside, when ive smoked enough meth to feel all tingly etc, it makes my pain go away for a while as well, no mystery why, enough dopamine will do that obviously lol.
it wud just put my mind at ease to know that either my tolerance isnt that bad for a chronic pain user who isnt an addict, or that yes my tolerance is ridiculous and opiate addicts have lower tolerance than me. either way it wud be nice to know. thanks a lot for ur contributions.
TL;DR: i have a chronic pain condition which is the only reason i do use opiates, they aren't fun for me. yet after a few months break and over the span of december, 100 mg codeine did nothing (was at around 800 mg and it wasn't helping anymore when i stopped a few months ago), 100 - 200 tramadol did help the first two or three times, then felt nothing again, 10 mg oxymorphone did nothing. wud u consider this normal?
