Metformin for heroin withdrawals?

I'm about 10 hours into heroin withdrawal.. I'm not a HUGE H user so the process has not been completely horrible.

Anyway, the aching is very annoying and I'd like it to stop.

I found a metformin pill in my car the other day- I'm assuming my diabetic friend dropped it.

I was going to throw it away, but now I'm wondering- Will it do anything for me?

No, metformin won't ease your withdrawals. In fact, some side effects may include gastrointestinal distress which is the last thing you would want to happen. Many people on Bluelight have stated that loperamide helps with opiate withdrawal. You might find this thread helpful:
