There's only a few other things you can really try. Pregabalin, Gabapentin are probably the best, and the latter isn't scheduled, and the other might not be in Australia.

I forgot to mention that although he refused fentanyl and methadone he suggested and gave me a prescription to try something called Di-Gesic (dextrpropoxyphene hydrocholoride with paracetomal).

I dont know what Di-Gesic is, but the 325mg of paracetomal in it sounds like a joke for the amount of pain im in.
 
Well, D-Propoxyphene is a joke for your pain. It's less effective than aspirin, though it is an opioid.

It's closely related to methadone, though, so if you tolerate it well, you might want to go talk to a doc and see there are any other Amidones he'd be willing to try. I know dipipanone is available in your country (I'm pretty sure, anyway), but that's pretty heavily abused, I think.
 
That well and truly sucks balls...I feel for you unlucky.

What's the situation with methadone clinics down here in Oz? I hate to suggest it, but maybe you could sneak your way into one of them. I'm not sure if they operate like in America, though.

I'd be more pissed at his asshole doctor who seems to be refusing to take drastic steps for a patient who is in a drastic situation.
 
Thanks for your help too Mr Blonde, I dont know the first thing about methadone clinics or how they operate or where to find one but I prefer to be able to try methadone in a cautious way at first by taking a small amount to start off with and see if I have any adverse reactions to it, I dont know if I would have that sorta flexibility to experiment at a clinic. I mite just have to wait (a very long wait) for pain managment clinic to see me. Thanks everyone for helping me.
 
A methadone clinic, if they are like here in America, would allow you to try a low dose (5mg)- just tell them you'd been using 10mg of vicodin for the last 2 years but never developed much of a tolerance.

I don't know what else to suggest. What about Nefopam, Haribo is on it now (I think?). That's an SSRI, though, so that's gotta be ruled out.

Have you tried Toradol? It's an NSAID that my wife loves.
