would this work?

make a mescaline tea with lime juice like regular...

take an equal volume of liquid saturated with sodium bicarbonate

and mix the two together and let the mescaline fall out

OR

add sodium bicarb to the mescaline tea until you have a basic ph

then take an equal volume of supersaturated salt water

and mix the two together and let the mescaline fall out

which one would work better (if they work at all)
it works for harmine/harmaline well...

if i recall correctly, the harmaline extraction you're referring to actually uses the insolubility of harmaline HCl in aqueous acidic NaCl solution. you're combining two ideas (NaCl and basic aqueous solution) and i'm not sure mescaline will fall out as a solid precipitate in either case.

mesc HCl is probably still quite soluble in saturated NaCl solution

freebase mesc is probably a liquid oil that will be difficult to separate from your aqueous cactus tea mess without a MASSIVE loss of product.

stick to the tried and true techniques, especially the food-safe ones.
