I just came across this on Wikipedia and I've never really heard of this before. Mephedrone, also known as 4-methylmethcathinone (4-MMC), or 4-methylephedrone, is a synthetic stimulant and entactogen drug of the amphetamine and cathinone classes. Slang names include meph, drone and MCAT.

According to what I've read this is similar to Ecstasy in effect and duration however apparently the user doesn't become acclimated to it quickly if at all. I'm from Wash D.C., used to be heavily involved in the club scene and I've never heard of it before. Has anyone used this? Is it qualitatively the same or similar to X (or possibly Molly)?

Any info on this would be appreciated, especially first hand experiences. Thanks!
 
It is definitely similar to MDMA in terms of duration, but the effect is not nearly as intense imho.
Methylone would be a better substitute for MDMA I think.
Both methylone and mephedrone generally have a more 'speedy' feeling than MDMA though, including excessive thirst and a rushy feeling.

Also, mephedrone is notorious for compulsive redosing.
In numerous instances, people just went on until the package was dry...
 
Mephedrone has completely replaced MDMA for me. I think lot of people who don't find it as fun aren't dosing properly, I take 4.94mg/kg (450mg for me) orally every 3 hours, as needed, and really enjoy it. If I drop the dose down to 4.40 mg/kg (400mg for me) its a lot less intense. 1.1-2.1mg/kg is fun, but nowhere near anything i would call intense, but can be a good time if I don't want to bounce off the walls. I have gone as high as 6.59 mg/kg (600mg) and that was a little too intense.

The regular availability of quality mephedrone has also made an impact on it replacing MDMA for me. Avoiding dangerous random pills that 90% of the time aren't mdma and are something far more dangerous is well worth whatever reduction in effect. Many people are able to use mephedrone more regularly then MDMA with less adverse effects. But some suffer major side effects, usually on the first go, they are discussed endlessly on the internet, familiarise yourself with them before use. I have yet to personally encounter anyone who has had them, YMMV.
 
A lot of people who took too much MDMA back in the day use mephedrone because it gives them the feel that the magic has returned.
Ive never tried it but from what I hear, the uneducated user cannot tell the difference between the two highs. Other than the fact that it doesnt last nearly as long as MDMA
 
I am a massive fan of mephedrone but I would stay away if I was you....has some nasty metabolites that can do some nasty things to heart valves and we do not know the long term effects just yet. Some of us are chance takers and other are not.......better to be the latter.

Anyway, yeah mephedrone is bawlllllss awesome, not exactly like MDMA, but very similar. Just as enjoyable. As said above though, there are a lot of unknowns with mephedrone right now, and until there is more research done, I wouldn't do much more than a couple curiosity doses. Optimally, just steer clear of it altogether. You aren't missing much if you have access to MDMA.

Personally, I have taken <2g's of it over the course of ~3 years on a couple random occasions, absolutely loved it every time I did it, never had any kind of hangover or come down from it but then again I never went nuts with it. I don't notice any lingering effects, didn't notice anything negative while on it, nothing bad to say at all.

Choice is yours, but obviously as with anything, moderation!!! Hope it helps.

Yeah I live in the DC burbs and none of my drug friends had heard of it til recently. General consensus is its an awesome high and if you use responsibly alot of the next day hangover that mdma brings is avoided. Problem is it is a fiendish drug and it can really wreck you after a binge. One of the more addictive substances ive come across.

That is really good advice, thanks. I don't really have an opportunity to party much and have no idea where I'd get this substance. I would like to try it one weekend though when I don't have the boy. I really don't have any friends in the party scene these days so my line of inquiry was really just curiousity. Since it is "legal", at least to possess it seems like a good option compared to what I would usually gravitate to.

I remember going to raves, dancing all night, x'd out of my mind. The good times didn't last though due to the tolerance issues. I got into a lot of other things in the years since, most of which I wish I hadn't. I'd love to have a carefree weekend just one more time and every E pill I've come across in recent years wasn't really E, just some amatuerish basement manufacture with some familiar logo stamped on it. Sorry, I'm blabbing. Done now.

I assume you'll have your son back after that weekend?
In that case, you should definitely not disregard what most users have warned for:
That it is a drug that leads to compulsive redosing and can leave you out of it for a few days, depending on how much you took.
Especially if you have no real connections, you would have to resort to an online vendor, meaning you are likely to order 1 gram or more...

In your situation, I would probably resort to something else.
Too bad I can't PM you, else I could give some more in-depth advice. :)
But you sound intelligent enough to take care of this choice just fine.

I just tried it for the first time tonight. It was fun as hell. I popped one gel cap at 12:30 and i'm still "rolling". It wasn't quite the empathetic experience like MDMA but the physical feeling was near identical. I'm kinda worried about it being a new drug and all but I can't find any molly so i'll take what i'm get.

Am I just an anomaly? When I rolled for the first and only time I rolled for like 7 hours. Now tonight I am still "rolling" off meph after 5 hours and I never redosed. I'm expecting the crash to suck really bad like it did with MDMA but I guess we'll see when it gets here...

I feel quite stimulated 5+ into mephedrone most of the time and am not ready for bed until at least 6 hours after. The fun more rolling feeling falls off 4 hours in for most people.
 
Eh I wish i could still get this stuff.

It's easy to get into massive binges with drone. Just watch your consumption and you should be okay.
 
^^Any idea on the dose? The first couple times i tried meph in oral doses around 100mg the rolling feeling didnt last after about 2hrs, but I have definitely had that feeling after a couple of binges. I wouldnt expect the crash to be nearly as bad as mdma after only 1 time, but after a few day binge its not so fun.
 
It depends alot on the invidual and obviously the purity of the product. Alot of the doseages you'll see written down online are for the uncut product everyone was buying when it's legal.

100mg is a good starting dose.
