Mephedrone vs MDMA

I know most of you are thinking from the title before you even read the thread "Surely, MDMA", but read on, this is only a question based around my personal experiences.

Ok, so my first proper experience with stimulants occurred around a year ago on a night out. I got my hands on what I was told was 'MKAT'. I went off to a friend's car for a quiet place to insufflate this chemical. It burned like hell but I braved it and ended up having the one and only best night I have ever had in my town. It was that good that I swore I would never step foot in a club again unless I was under the influence of this godly chemical.

I was later told by a friend that MKAT was the 'poor man's ecstasy' and that the negative effects from MKAT greatly outweigh the positive effects. I almost agreed with him, that one night on MKAT gave me an agonising two weeks of pain in the form of a mouthful of sores and constant nosebleeds (probably from the damaged lining of my nose given how caustic this stuff felt). So I sought after some of the purest MDMA I could get my hands on.

I sourced some from a certain deep web store and it arrived quite soon, in powder form. I was anxious to give it a go and took some at a friend's house to try it. This time, it floored me. I could not keep my eyes open and they wobbled from side to side at super speed. I felt good, but almost completely dissociated. I kept muttering random things and had basically entered what I would now describe as a sort of psychosis. This experience involved little to no euphoria at all and I didn't feel like even talking most of the time.

I assumed the stuff I got wasn't of good quality and sought it from another place, a street dealer. It came in a small bag with off-white crystals that I crushed up and bombed before a night out, I weighed the bomb at 100mg. By the time I arrived at a club, I was completely floored again and I turned 180 degrees and walked back home after explaining to everyone that 'I just can't'. I then had another experience about a month later after I got my hands on several 'blue superman' pills. These turned out to be even stronger and I won't go into it. I was written off completely for hours.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought this was a chemical that most people agree produces huge euphoria for them but I am receiving almost none? Is it my neurochemistry? I keep trying to recreate my MKAT night but MDMA just doesn't do it for me. I used to take Ethylphenidate and Methylphenidate and even these gave much more euphoria than MDMA for me.

TL;DR: I took MKAT, it was amazing. I took MDMA, it was lackluster.

What you're getting on the street - I can almost guarantee 100% is not MDMA.

Pure MDMA can only be found when buying directly from the manufacturer. Everything else on the street are shitty amphetamines and Cathinones. Like Mephedrone, Butylone, Methylone, MDPV, PMA, Methamphetamine is also common, whatever. It's never real MDMA because real MDMA is 1. Too hard to make in comparison to the other drugs listed. 2. All the precursors are illegal.

What you've been getting isn't MDMA it's one of the shitty chemicals named above. If you want real MDMA, you're going to have to test every pill you get.

Theyre too different drugs really (assuming you did get LEGIT versions of each.) Sure they share a few qualities, but they are still different monsters on there own. MDMA is a somewhat-psychedelic, Close eye visual, tiny-bit-speedy chem that opens your mind up, beyond just making you lovey dovey.

Meph is like a lovey dovey, short acting, highly euphoric (at least in my opinion) stimulant. Ive done large amounts of both chems over the years (and yes the MDMA was straight from the source) and while there is still a war raging over this very topic, I much prefer 4mmc. Its easier to mix with benzos. To share experiences with someone THROUGH drugs, and not just on drugs.

I know that sounds lame but hey, everyones different.

Dont bother trying to use MDMA to recreate a Meph experience, it will never ever happen. Theyve been trying to make meph replacements for the past 2 years. God I wish I had me a line right now....*sniffle*

Different strokes perhaps.

They both provide euphoria and empathy it's quite possible that you just happen to prefer one over the other. Just because MDMA is the overall standard empathogen doesn't mean you'll enjoy it any more or less than other entactogen stimulant type drugs.

Set and setting plays its part as well.

Am I doing something wrong?

yes, you should always test your stuff before ingesting. there are lots of chemicals floating around and being sold as mdma.
if what you got really was mdma then you dosed too high. mdma can turn you into a mess that melts into a couch if you do too much (but usually this only happens at doses above 150-200mg). it's normally stimulating at low and "normal" doses and sedating at if you took too much (or if people are used to pills adulterated with amphetamines).

they do wobble from side to side at super speed with mdma (usually called eye-wiggel on here and nystagmus in the literature). this is usually a sign of euphoric bliss

not being able to keep the eyes open are a sign of having dosed too high. at low-medium doses your eyes are going to be super wide open, at medium-high doses they do funny things and alternate between wide open and closed. only when on a heavy binge, they ime are hard to keep open.

try a lower dose the next time (and test your material!). maybe you are especially sensitive.


btw: mdma (also mda) is the most euphoric compound i have ever tried by far and all mephedrone gives me is tachykardia and chest pains on the next day.

For a beginner, hell even the experienced the Blue Superman pills are extremely intense. Rated somewhere around the mark of 200mg+ MDMA. It sounds to me that the substance you procured via the deep web was infact MDMA and some of reasonable quality. Harm reduction would be to advise to test what you get before ingesting, although I personally have a terrible habit of not and honestly I have paid the price sometimes when undesirable effects have come over me due to one thing being sold as another.

Also I find Mephedrone to be more of a stimulant, perhaps you are a man of stims (like me). Although I recommend taking things slow and feeling out new substances. You seem to be doing a fine job of taking things slow.

Depends on where you live. In most of Europe it's exactly the reverse: a lot of pills do contain MDMA, the quality is getting back. Check for yourself at http://www.pillreports.com/index.php?page=region_home&region=2 . Most pills aren't pure MDMA but most contain good portion of it.
Real mephedrone on the other hand is rare where I live, it's always some less euphoric and shittier cathinones masked as mephedrone, as 3-MMC or 4-MEC.

most molly i bought (MDMA) in its crystal powder form, i know for a fact wasnt MDMA, cause when i rolled it was a pink strawberry e pill, half a tab i took and it was the most mind blowing stimulating clean smooth bliss, i bet all the "molly" i got was bath salts or mephedrone. i ate .4 of a off white crystal chunk or supposed MDMA, i got spacey and stimulated, huge pupils, eyes would twitch when seeing colors alot. no euphoria, just stimulated spaced out, like taking speed and only getting the crash comedown feeling...i only done real MDMA onc ei guess which was a pill, just buy a test kit if ur really on a quest to enjoy MDMAs beautiful life effects with people, and test each pill u buy...mdma is a beautiful thing yet so hard to get a hold of.
