Mephedrone Trial - Federal Police

Thats sad news mate, hope ur mate pulls up well. 20g is fuk all. Plenty people have had there stuff seized and that was it. If it would of been done a year or more ago that is. Anyone tryin to import after it got media attention is literally facing harsh importation penalties. The problem is that importation is worse than a simple possession or distribution (if its that small quantity).

On the side note i dont think ur friend needs to be overly concerned. Its not like he will be facing big charges. Prob will get a fine and/or a suspended jail sentence. I wouldnt even consider obtaining a lawyer for the case. Would just use the systems lawyer and admit everything including ur drug use, they might even have him referred to a drug rehibilitation problem. No biggie.
 
If hes clean record wise I doubt that will get him a record if he pleads guilty and is sincere and enters a drug rehab program. Explains the scales were to measure out the drug for himself as he read on the Internet its a good legal study aid at 500mg.
 
If i were you I'd just lag in Doron Sabag. The more they hear that name..
 
Is 8 grams the amount he ordered or was that just what was caught? 8 grams seems like an odd number considering he had 20 grams already at home. Or was it 28 grams ordered, sent as single grams, and only 8 got nabbed?
 
Cheers guys. After a lengthy discussion with the lawyer a payment plan has now been set up.

He has been advised that it wouldn't be a good idea to plead not guilty and claim that he made a mistake of fact, as that would be saying he ordered something legal, and received something illegal which wasn't the case.

It may be more likely he will plead not guilty, claiming he made a mistake in law under the misguided assumption that mephedrone was actually legal in Australia. I believe he will ask for a bond to be considered rather than a criminal record as a criminal record will have severe negative implications on his career. Hopefully the prosecution will accept this. A rehab program won't be necessary however he will be accepting if it is deemed necessary.

Does anyone know where someone could actually find a copy of the act where it includes the analogues clause? I have looked extensively for it however haven't been able to come up with anything apart from the drug schedules.
 
Also (sorry to double post everyone), does anyone know a way of obtaining old Wikipedia articles?

This may come in handy as mephedrone was mentioned on there sometime ago about mephedrone being legal worldwide, including Australia.

Man I feel sorry for your friend, that's a small amount to get done for. I wonder if others have got done recently for small quantities? I guess they don't get reported on unless they are in the Kilos.

Unless it's in the history you won't be able to fork up old Wikipedia articles.

But more importantly in no way would a wiki article hold up as any kind of evidence. It is the most commonly known thing that can't be trusted because of how easily it was edited.
Thus you can NEVER referance wiki articles, this flows from high school through college and indeed in court cases.

You are better off trying to find old things that were on Today Tonight and A Current Affair. I think one of the episodes was called meow meow madness or something similar.

Fucking analouge acts.:!.... mephedrone was made illeagal so then comes along nephylone (BK MDMA) i think.... the above said act is for any analouge of an illegal chem as far as im aware. Austrailias tough on this kinda shit, as soon as something new comes along its oftenly banned swiftly:X

I cant keep up with all these new RC's. I have a friend in EU who owns a website selling 30-40 different kinds of RCs. i used to tell him whats new and whats hot now its the other way around LOL any new RC will become banned ASAP in AU. Over there it takes months n months for it to get banned. No wonder our country (AU) has the highest drug consumers per capita. Its sad but true.
 
^ Totaly agreed AU is like the nazis of drug controll, assholes wont us have any legal fun
cant wait till im prime minister/president if republic happenz, My would there be lifted restrictions on analouges and importing laws...... really hate people who think its clever to take drugs... like police and custons officers :)

bk-MDMA is Methylone, either nephylone is one bad ass typo or something that I haven't heard of.
Also I'm pretty sure methylone predates 4-MMC a good 40 years, I have also found methylone to be far more enjoyable then 4-MMC given the correct doses, given 250mg methylone ~ 100 mg MDMA.
 
Probably referring to naphyrone, which, when mephedrone was about to be banned in the UK, was touted as the legal mephedrone replacement.
