Mephedrone questions

I guess this would go in the "other" thread.

I have never tried mephedrone before, but have done just about everything else except mushrooms and ecstacy.

After having several pretty bad experiences with pot, I stopped trying to smoke it and have never understood how anyone could find it enjoyable. Back in my younger days, my drugs of choice were quaaludes and alcohol. Just about any downer. Though I prefer downers, I've also enjoyed a variety of snortable things with various names, most recently meth. I would really like to try mephedrone, but I want to make sure it is not something that would make me hallucinate. I don't like anything that messes with my mind that much, it scares me. That's why I never tried mushrooms, but I did do acid a couple of times. It must not have been very strong because I didn't "trip" and see things like they say acid does.

I currently take Effexor XR, Lamictal and Xanax for depression/anxiety and have been for about 12 years. I read something about not mixing Mephedrone with anti-depressants, but is that only for MAOI's?

No, mephedrone is not hallucinogenic or mind-bending at all. It's basically just an upper, though some find that it also causes Ecstasy-like empathy. Taking mephedrone with an MAOI would be very dangerous, but taking it with an SSRI will just diminish the effects. It will, though, diminish them significantly. There is a wealth of information on mephedrone on this site, including an FAQ, many trip reports, megathreads and speculation on pharmacology and toxicology, all of which can be found by using the search engine.

Slightly OT: Lamictal? Do you take that for seizures or depression? If you take it for depression, I reccomend you consider tapering off it. I was on it for about 1.5 years, was convinced it was turning me into someone else. I just recently (as in the last 2 months) tapered off and stopped taking it and let me tell you, any and all of my depression and anxiety symptoms have nearly gone 100%. Best choice ever was stopping that stupid ass lamotrigine...

If you take it for something else though, please do not stop your med.


Anyway, mephedrone is balls awesome. You've never tried E, so I can't really compare it to something accurately for you, because that's what it's closest to. You say you've snorted meth, I'd imagine that's probably similar. When I snort ~100mg of mephedrone, I get an intense euphoric rush that washes over my entire body. It feels like someone cracked a warm jesus egg on the top of my head, and as it's heavenly lukewarm yolk runs down my body to my extremities, it leaves rainbows and kittens in it's path.

I've had very pure MDMA, and very cut MDMA, and mephedrone is closer to pure MDMA than the cut rolls were. Not very stimulating, but stimulating enough to keep you going. You don't feel tweaked out though, you just want to chill and bond with homies. Just don't over do it, it's VERY fiendy.
