Mephedrone? Professor of Psychopharmacology Says Its Safe

Iain McGregor sent me this, in response to a rather lengthy and ranty e-mail from me fairly late last night. I was basically saying he was totally irresponsible and misguided in saying such stuff, and there's been so little research done on mephedrone no one can know, however anecdotal evidence shows that it's a fairly damaging and addictive drug, and i've personally had health issues from a single use of it, and it's pretty likely to be linked to a number of deaths and hospitalisations.

Also said that Dr Nutt in the UK would never express views like he (supposedly) did and that if he wanted to be confrontational he should focus upon MDMA, a drug which has existed for almost 100 years and has undergone lots of testing (like aMT and LSD).

I'm going to e-mail the journalist who interviewed him, like he suggests, cos tbh she's doing something even more irresponsible; making up bullshit and tagging it with a scientific logo. What a fucking cunt. Blehhh.

Yes thank you Ricklet. That shows me that you are truly here for harm reduction purposes. A great contribution. Ive never tried mephedrone, but from all of the anecdotal evidence ive seen almost every report on the chemical at the very least briefly talks about some negative effects suffered by the user. Its possible that mephedrone carries few "risks," but i doubt it. There is just not enough research on these new chemicals to conclusively say for sure on either side.
