Mephedrone Megathread VII: Misunderstood Marvels & Malingering Metabolites

Just read an article (on the front page) of a free newspaper in Switzerland about Mephedrone. For the most part they seemed fairly well informed about it, but they said that it was now illegal in a list of countries and they included the UK. Is it true or not?
 
Have all the 'legal highs' of the past been so thoroughly abused by minors? Is this common media strategy to create panic, or is mephedrone really hitting the spot with teenagers this time?

Also...how many times do you have to have some organisation or person of authority say 'there hasn't been enough testing done on this substance' before one of them actually, you know, does some f'ing testing?!

Surely if you were that desperate it wouldn't be too hard to sell it and make some personal? Unless you had no fucking idea it was available online, which is doubtfull with all the press..

I can't see anyone craving it that badly when they weren't on it, surely? But then I know people who will go to extreme lengths to get it when they run out. Can't see people craving it alot when sober though?!

Just because it's legal & available on line doesn't mean that it doesn't have the capacity to enslave someone the way crack does. After all, cocaine, methamnphetamine etc were abused before they became controlled drugs - doesn't mean they were less addictive then. If someone's going through 2g a day, that's £30/day - enough to support a small smack habit

bank accounts and places to get shit delivered to become an issue in the throes of drug addiction, also the need for instant gratification as well so waiting for next day delivery could seem impossible (talking about crack/smack addiction here but I suppose the same principles could apply).

completely irrelevant to the question in general without first knowing the age spread of members on drug forum... i bet the answers to that would be exactly the same if the question was "what is your age?"
 
Hm I was trawling drugs forum the other day - (bluelights a fucking nightmare see) & one thing I think I noticed was that they seemed to be actively trying to set up testing services - it's a must do if it's possible don't you think ?
In fact if you read deeply enough in bluelight one or two might have noticed something pertaining to that - or did it slip the undersized net :D ;)
