Mephedrone Megathread VI: Anyone Seen My Heartvalves?

I tried it again yesterday and I had a thoroughly good time. It's an experience I want to repeat however I'm going to stay clear of it.

I feel pretty much the same way about it. I havn't gone overboard with it so I don't have a compulsion to do it or any real negative effects to scare me off but I just have a feeling that this one needs to be used rarely, if at all, unless you want bitten on the arse by it...shame but there you go!

This stuff is definitely dodgy. Girlfriend did very little (4 or 5 keys) on New Years eve and has felt breathless all of yesterday and still is today. I have felt the same after taking it before - puffed out walking up stairs even. Not good

I hate this stuff and I hate myself for not having the willpower to not take it.

After swearing I wouldn't touch it again, I did it both NYE and night before. That's now 5 times in 2 weeks: a total of about 6 grams. I thought I was going to die yesterday as I came off it. I now think this is to do with the fact I am Erythromycin (see earlier post).

I've been on this antibiotic all 5 times I took the drug - stupidly I was under the impression antibiotics didn't cause complications.

God knows what I've done to myself now, I'm not sure I'm ever going to recover from this.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to quit alcohol for a long time now, because as soon as I am drunk my willpower just disappears.

one of my mates on nye was really out of breath, proper panting even when hed been still for a while/off the meph for hours. never seen this before on anyone who'd taken meph

Never had that... has she eaten and slept sufficiently?

Maybe effects of anxiety - they're all symptoms. Do you or her suffer, or have ever suffered, from it?

Am i going to have done loads more damage than usual by taking meph whilst on erythromycin, if it inhibits an enzyme necessary to break the meph down?

EDIT: especially since I take 1g of erythromycin a day :-/

In a few days your gonna feel allright again, your way to paranoid about this substance, yes it causes some bad side effects in some ppl but most ppl do it without any bad side effects.
You are fine!

And yeah alcohol sucks when it comes to this, it makes you crave drugs like crazy!

one of the girls with us on new years was throwing up. of course she blamed me for giving her one wee capsule of mephedrone haha. never mind the tons of alcohol eh? seeing as that nevereverever makes people throw up.

told her to shut it & not hassle me for drugs again if she's gonna complain about it.

I admit I am too paranoid, but I have now done meph 5 times whilst on a prescription drug that inhibits the breakdown of meph - that sounds really concerning to me

Well it means it all turns into 4-methylephedrine (not a good thing) as cyp3A4 (the enzyme responsible for N-demethylation) is inhibited by erythromycin

Which is why i told her to shut her noise. It's not like she was in a proper bad way, she just hit a whitey once or twice. To be fair, she wasn't exactly shouting abuse at me, more just half jokingly saying "it's your fault i was sick last night!"

Just don't take combos when you know they're contraindicated. It's done now so worrying wont change anything

Man, I wish not worrying was an option. Anxiety disorder kind of prevents that though

I was naive enough to think that antibiotics wouldn't interfere. I can't believe the 2 week period I got into meph coincided with a 2 week course of prescription drugs that made meph way worse for me

Would you predict I might have done some considerable damage from this then? Way more than if I wasn't on the Erythromycin?

See, when you have bits of the night you cant remember you can be damn sure it was a hell of a good night.

You always seem to have great nights out! Dunno if its the drugs you take, the company you keep, the places you go or a combination of all of the above.

Perhaps you're just a fun person and it doesnt matter where you are or who you're with.

I'd put it down to the company. My mates are the best (well, some of them anyway)

It looks like 4-methylephedrine is, by all subjective accounts, the major cause of issues in the 1- to 6-hour period after taking, as it's broken down, for heavy users. I gather it's probably the cause of chest pains, muscle spasms, toxicity for various important organs, panic attacks, tachycardia, tachyarrhythmia?, and so on? (These are some of the issues I've had and read about in other guinea pigs).

So: might there be a way of doing the opposite and, instead of inhibiting CYP3A4 and turning it all into 4-methylephedrine, inhibiting the creation of 4-methylephedrine in favour of something possibly less toxic?

I know this might not help for pathological effects caused by other stages of the conversion process - including mephedrone itself and any synthesisation impurities, but it might be a start from a harm-reduction perspective...?
