Mephedrone Megathread VI: Anyone Seen My Heartvalves?

No, it means that F&B is presuming that it will be added to the GBL, Spice etc. amendment (which I thought was Dec. 23rd, but close enough).

I doubt this is the case, or we would have heard something about it. What I believe will happen is a massive overhaul of the act which will include all cathinones and other analogues of scheduled substances. The media frenzy is really going for 'legal highs' in general to be banned.

I think the election will buy us some time on this, but figure it will happen second half of next year....not basing this on anything other than gut feeling and observation of media.
 
I heard the advisery panal are looking into it now and will pass their findings on to the home office when they've reached a conclusion how dangerous it is. Surely that'll take a few months

Meph aint causing no-ne to get rapey or sell their TV ffs, or if it is they need to sort their heads out. Hope poorly dude is better or gets better whatever were up with him though.

I could definitely see it leading to such a situation, but only if the people were already lowlife scumbags in the first place - and then they would have likely done the same on any stimulant.

I just hope for you guys they only ban cathinones and dont make a dodgy law like the analog law in the US.

The netherlands seem to have the "smartest" law, theres a law that says that it is illegal to sell chemicals with a medicinal effect (dunno what the exact words were, but every chemical with a psychoactive effect was included).

I've fallen into this rut of doing small amounts over a relatively long period of time (for me) to deal with the aftermath of a night out on the stuff. For example, after doing say 400 mg on a night out I give way to the cravings (I am VERY impulsive, can't control myself) and do small lines of maybe around 40-50mg every hour or two for the better part of the next day. Didn't used to do this at all, but have now started.

Do people reckon this is massively unhealthy?

Its still under a gram over a 24hour period, so i wouldn't be too worried. Its not ideal of course but i dont think you're in any serious danger from that

What's the deal here? Are you telling me meph is active on you at 40mg? Describe what you get at that level please.

I reckon threshold is around 100mg and even that would give bare effects.

Sticking an inactive dose of a probably highly toxic chemical up your nose just seems stupid. Cumatatively, all the risks, none of the benefits no?
 
Many people i know have used ~40-50mg bumps for very mild stimulation and euphoria

I couldnt control myself like that unfortunately
 
They're the people who took half an pill back in the day and only took the other half if needed

That's my point. It's not making me "mashed" or anything. Does have a very noticeable effect, but quickly begins to feel like you're just "working to stay afloat" so to speak.

Remember I'm not talking about my night out/fun here, just the aftermath when I begin to feel like I should have a bit more so as not to get too anxious/stressed.

edit: also, I disagree with your thresholds. I usually get very noticeable effects from 100mg... i remember back in the day I would make a wrap of 250mg and split that into two sessions throughout the course of a 4-5 hours night out, with very fun consequences

edit number 2 (sorry lol): also, the 40-50mg are taken with rapid regularity, so it's not so much that i've come down and want to get up again, more like "i should keep doing a bit to stay at this level"

Somehow, I don't think so. At least not from actual mephedrone as opposed to some other substance palmed off/cut with meph. Otherwise, they've shown possibly the first reported case of this particular negative symptom (facial nerve damage) in what must be well over 1 million doses by now = pretty unlucky/stupid.

Edit: Apparently (according to patient.co.uk) about 1 in 70 people will experience Bell's Palsy at some stage in their life. Evidence points to it being a response to a viral infection, possibly herpes (of the cold sores variety) or chicken pox. I've searched for drug use causing facial nerve damage/inflammation without luck (searching for any drug). Seriously doubt this has any real merit to it, but always interested to hear more details...

But I completely expect this to be reported as fact in a popular newspaper very soon (r.e. scrotum incident). 8)

It's definitely active at such a dose. I've tested my new batch at 1/6/12/25/50mg over the course of about three hours last week. I felt even the 12mg line (very mild stimulation). 25mg gave mild stimulation along with mild euphoria for about 15min, 50mg same just longer lasting with an added feeling that I needed to do more (which I didn't because I was just testing the batch and didn't want to build any tolerance at all for the proper session).

So, even when considering cumulative dose, it was active both euphoria and stimulation wise by about 40mg.

But I am a lightweight admittedly (although I didn't used to be, but it's been over a year since smoking even any weed and about the same since the last time I had MDMA/coke. Nothing since then except for 500mg 4-MMC about a month ago.)
