Mephedrone Megathread - Third time lucky?

Some meph that a mate had seems to have..'gone off'

By that i mean its liquidized, turned orange, smells really bad (and un meph-like) and when someone tried it they got no decent effects from it, just threw it back up. Same stuff i had except all mine had gone a week or 2 ago and showed no sign of turning orange/liquidy.. He just chucked the rest of it

Anyone got any idea of how/why this may have happened? He kept it in draw away from any heat source ect
 
Well that's pretty strange, if it was kept away from heat/light etc, then all I could think of is a shoddy synth.

How long did it take to turn into that shite?

I bombed 250mg first time and was completely fucked. Hubby did the same and had very little effect. I think we're the two extremes with this stuff but it does show it has quite a wide range of twattedness.

That's how legal things become illegal very quickly - fuckin' retards! Alcohol/tobacco is legal so it's not poisonous... an instant 1st in pharmacology eh? :\
 
After taking 2c-c about two weaks ago, I experience strong optical distortions (e.g. breathing and morphing) after doing the first line of a session (approx 70mg). This effect lasts about 10 minutes and is so severe that I'm totally distracted by it. After diminishing it doesn't appear again for the rest of the session.
I experienced this 3 times so far - every meph session since the 2c-c. The two mates whom I took the 2c-c with notice the same effect (and start to be freaked out by it), with different batches of mephedrone (first I thought the latest batch I have may be contaminated by some short acting tryptamine or something similar, but it didn't produce that effect in non 2c-c trippers)

So...
What the heck is that? A feature of the 2c-c? Or a contaminated batch of it (all three sampled the same)? Have we fried our brains?
 
Don't think your Meph is laced with tryps/phens and I'm sure you haven't fried your brains.

You saying that everytime you take Mephedrone now after your 2c-c experiences, you start getting visuals?
 
2C-x compounds are quiite bad for lingering after effects like that (from exp of accidentally IMing 25mg of 2C-I). I reckon you've got yourself a case od HPPD that'll take a few months to resolve, going on my previous experiences.

Only advice is to reduce your intake of stims/psychedelics/entactogens for a good few weeks and let the dust settle (thay all act on similar systems in the brain, so any overlap is going to set bells ringing)
 
After a period of heavy tripping I start noticing slight trails when I'm sober, and especially when I'm stoned, get very apparent visual disturbances. But it goes away when you give it a rest.

So I reckon F&B's hit the nail on the head with this one :)

Would still like to know why Link_S's friends Meph turned into sludgy yellow shite...
 
I was just about to type the same thing, Bulbous One :)

I've not heard of 2C-C being responsible for HPPD before but there's no reason why it couldn't and lingering visuals would suggest that it has. 2C-C potentiates anything you combine it with so getting visuals the first time would be quite normal but to continue to get visuals from meph without using 2C-C does whiff of a touch of HPPD. Fortunately it's usually a temporary condition for most and taking a break from the drugs should deal with it. Probably not the answer you'd be looking for but for the best in the long run.

Okay, I have already assumed that it is just a weird feature of the 2c-c. Was my first time with any 2c-x by the way.

I guess postpone the planned shroom and dmt trips for some months...

HPPD is a bit worrysome, especially with loads of psychedelics to be explored in the summer holidays :\

Strange that 2 others experienced the same (one of whom is my brother, so that there may be a genetic predisposition for HPPD)

HPPD can be caused by any psyche - "RC" or "traditional" - but some of the 2C's seem to cause symptoms more often than others with 2C-I being maybe the most prone to it. The 2C-C Thread may have more information in it about it's potential for causing HPPD symptoms - may be worth you mentioning it in the thread too as new information on these relatively unknown psyches is always welcome. Hope your aftereffects don't linger too long so you can enjoy your mushies and DMT soon :)
 
Hang on, SHM says that HPPD doesn't exist. So it can't do.

Anyway, I thought I was getting it after stopping mirtazapine, but after hammering the 2C-I recently, I've had nothing like it. It's strange. I guess it's different for everyone.
 
I get HPPD like symptoms all the time when sober. Things swirling and moving that shouldn't be, patterns on the carpet and wallpaper dancing around, blue flash of lights in the corner of my eye, I also get lots of 'glare' off certain materials as if it's almost a bright light blinding me. :\
 
Hi, just wondered if anyone had an opinion on these bubbles that are doing the rounds at the moment, a decent alternative to pills? In Scotland by the way.
 
Hi Shedboy, moved your post to the Mephedrone thread, cause I think that is what people have been calling "bubbles".

Its a decent alternative, not a great one, you might like to read through this thread to learn a little more about it.
