Are there any withdrawal symptoms with ending a cycle, mentally? If a user were to cycle once or twice to jump ahead, is it possible to maintain those gains after choosing to abstain from steroid use?

I would guess that it would be psychological, because you won't be able to train with the same frequency or intensity if you were on. If you want to maintain most of your gains, have a good PCT course set, diet in check, and keep lifting as heavy as you can.

Quoted for truth. Steroids can be very psychologically addicting, especially for people with muscle dysmorphia (an adonis complex).

Some people do get addictive to the point where they choose to never cycle off. In other words, they constantly run one or more steroids all year long into next year and so on and so forth.
