Memantine is the most profound mania producing drug known to man

That story Ram Dass tells is horseshit - someone who was there says Babi palmed the acid (a lot of these yogi types have good sleight of hand - Babaji used to make a watch disappear so people thought he was God). Yeah he just palmed the acid and pretended he had taken it. Later he put the acid in the ash of his fire and gave it to two americans to eat (the ash of a yogi fire is meant to be holy). The two americans went away and tripped balls.

Don't really know how much I believe this one. Just seems like an alternative story to affirm their mental fortitude. I find it a lot more likely they just tripped balls and lied about it.

I tend to believe it for a couple reasons. The yogi shook Alpert enough that he abandoned his former identity and became Ram Dass, Indian for Slave of God, and basically became a different person. His plan was to mind fuck the guy and the guy pulled a reverse mind fuck on him. Yogis, fakirs, and the rest are famous for that, famous for using their mental agility to outsmart and out shine people that are full of shit. I believe Alpert and Leary were full of themselves and talked a lot of shit, they were primed for a mind fuck.

The first time Alpert gave him the acid, Maharajji didn't throw the acid away. That was an illusion Ram Das cooked up in his own head to create a justification for what happened. Since his mind wasn't ready for the idea that someone could injest LSD without having a mind-blowing, life changing experience. It's true though, there's down to earth type people that took acid and didn't really change although they didn't keep as straight about it as maharajji. I find his talk about the yogi drug really interesting. Basically confirms Soma exists and it's been known for thousands of years. Probably mushrooms, not ephidrine like a lot of bioethnologists think.

I've been to India, practiced quite a bit of yoga. I'm not adept enough that I can chow that much acid without blinking but I've been to hyperspace quite a few times while meditating. Experienced many different hyper aware states, including true bliss, that are similar to drug induced states. The problem is it's a lot more work.

You have to spend your entire life practicing yoga to reach the point you can control your unconscious and control your brain and body chemistry to that extreme. You have to abandon society and spend 24/7 praciticing yoga. Most people aren't up for that. Shaman and yogi are. A lot of them use mountains of hashish, datura, or other stuff depending on what part of the world they live in.

It's been documented that it doesn't require supernatural powers or magic; just an extreme amount of self control and insight into your own brain and metabolism. This is why so many stoners and trippers go to India and get mind fucked. It's no surprise the Beatles got mindfucked by the Maharishi. Acid might be the drug most similar to the state yoga puts you in. If I wanted to mess with a yogi I'd give them mushrooms. Probably wouldn't work either but there's a greater chance they'd end up a puddle of laughter on the floor. Those guys are so positive they'd never have a bad trip.

Or ketamine; that stuff is weird and more unnatural than any drug I've taken. The only drug that would have flipped me the fuck out, if it wasn't for it's anesthetic effects. I tried explaining all the weird negative evil shit I saw in my k hole to someone and they said there's no way they'd do something that negative. I said, no it's not really negative, you don't feel anything. You don't feel scared because you can't feel scared; you aren't attached.

I've been given ketamine while undergoing surgery and I know a few times the amnesia drug they give you so you don't remember anything afterwards wore off. I don't really disassociatives as much as I'd like to because of PTSD from these experiences. After doing ketamine for 3 or 4 day afterwards I have colorful weird futuristic dreams. I think they're glimpses into the future world, at least as close to real as my mind can extrapolate. They're usually negative because I'm not optimistic about humanities future. Adds to my reasons not to K hole again or that often. It's so interesting despite the negatives it's hard to never visit again.

What's your source?
