melted DMT

So my dealer is an idiot, and the DMT he had melted with him in the car. He had it in gel caps, and the capsules were still fine, just with a liquid DMT inside. So I put them in the freezer to re-solidify it, but it still looks goopy/gunky after several hours. What is the best way to handle it from here, in order for the DMT to be smokable?

never seen DMT in gel caps.

if you're product melted, it was probably very weak in the first place as it probably wasn't recrystallized properly.

my recommendation would be to buy/order some cappi leaf, and try to fuse it onto that and smoke it. that'll be your best bet i think.

You might have a bit of a hard time removing the DMT from the gelcaps now, I would think

if it is indeed DMT freebase inside gelatin capsules that you wish to vaporize, perhaps the following course of action will clean up your situation:

1. with the capsules fresh from teh freezer, cut open and attempt to scrape as much as possible into a vial or other glass container

2. dissolve the capsules with remnants of DMT in a small shot glass of hot water with baking soda at the bottom. the DMT should remain as oily drops on top of the water while the gelatin dissolves completely.

3. move the shot glass into the refrigerator to chill the water and make the DMT easier to grab. as it cools it should return to waxy/crystal on top of the water. it might stick to the sides of the glass.

DMT freebase easily oxidizes in the presence heat and exposure. DMT-N-oxide is an oily substance but there are ways to separate DMT-N-oxide and convert it back to DMT.

It could be the oxide that causes trouble, or maybe it was a little oily to begin with if it wasn't extremely pure stuff. I'd say save it for oral dosing if you ever plan on doing that, or consider trying to dissolve it in some distilled water with lye and naphtha. I assume the gelatin will stay with the aqueous layer. Re-extract it and hopefully it will be more pure than you started with as a bonus. Maybe try to give it back to your dealer with that request, depending on how close he is to the guy who extracted it they might go for it.

All of the yellow/ off white dmt ive encountered melts at temperatures that can be found in a tent or a closed car. Ive never had any issues though i keep mine in wax baggies for just this reason. Keep your dmt cool.

Yeah, even good quality crystal tends to melt fairly easily. I once had some on top of some cannabis in a pipe, but our spot was disturbed by a couple hikers and we had to move. I had my thumb over the bowl as we walked for a little ways and it melted onto my thumb. I just said "fuck it" and rubbed it on my gums. I think I even got a slight head change off it. We had more crystal though, so it wasn't a big deal. Honestly, if my dealer showed up with melted DMT in gel caps I'd turn it down and tell him I'd pick it up myself from him another time since he's obviously too inept to transport drugs himself. Since you already presumably paid for it since it is in your possession, I don't really have much helpful to add. I think that saving it to take with an MAOI down the road is your best bet.
