OK.. RR now knows the party is on saturday but he has no idea of the scope. if anyone talks to him on irc etc don't offer any info or say anything about any out-of-state people coming.. I'm trying to let him think it's going to be tiny.

Hyjinx babe i have to bail on this one to unfortunantly. I have a 30th birthday to attend for a girl at my work and we get half price drinks for as long as we want :D and i kinda told her months ago id go if she had it on a day where work wasnt busy i would go :\

i will try to have coffee with you asap though hun now i know you are around :)
 
Can't make it guys, finances are a bit tight and transport's gonna be a pain in the arse to organise, specially coming down and getting back in two days... soz people, would have been nice.

Sorry if this has been asked before (crappy PC screen so I CBA to read through the thread) but how far is it from Melbourne airport to the event, possible by taxi? Or are more complicated travel arrangements needed like a bus, then a mule, then 30 miles hitchhike down a dirt track before a 10 mile trek across desert?
If its fairly easy then I'll book the plane tickets this afternoon or tomorrow :)
 
It should be anywhere from 15-40 min (at most?) drive NON peak. A friend just told me it was 60 min drive from a nearby suburb to the airport in peak traffic and they said "Peak traffic is chaos that side of town"

It's fairly easy NON peak.. And you may be able to get someone to pick you up anyway? :) Or at least catch the skybus to Spencer St (15 or 20 min trip) and catch a train from there to a nearby station which someone could easily pick you up. Hell if you want to spend the day in Melbourne, someone could meet you in city and drive you to the party (yes, I might be putting my hand up to be that person) :)
